Anything on the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? — Denise
Let's play a game. I'll give you a description and you guess which Marvel character this newcomer might be. I hear they're casting for a ruggedly handsome, physically fit actor to play a character who can escape any situation, is a bit of a wild card and, though he's mostly interested in personal gain, always ends up doing the right thing. Get to guessing in the comments!

Shield agent Eric O'Grady (aka the third Ant-Man)?

I think it's pretty well settled that the alien is a Kree and that Season 2 will have an alien subplot. I don't think the connection to the movie will be any greater than the mutual tie of the Kree. It's worth pointing out that, while I'm sure Kevin Feige is kept in the loop about major developments in Agents of SHIELD, my understanding is Marvel Television runs all the television shows, not Kevin Feige. I'm going to take him at his word that he doesn't know what their plans are just yet.

Moon Knight is a cool suggestion for this character. It's the first good suggestion I've seen to a character that Marvel can actually use (really, the description fits lots of people, but my suggestion of Gambit is obviously wrong. As is the suggestion of Han Solo I'm seeing floating around the internet ;) ).

ETA: I just did some counting based on the Sep. 23 premiere date. 22 AoS episodes plus 8 AC episodes is 30. Assuming they take off the week of Christmas and the week of New Years, that's 32. Counting forward, I see a season end date of April 28, just in time for Age of Ultron without requiring you to see the movie before the next AoS episode. Does anyone think that's what they'll do?

Agents of SHIELD' Season 2: ABC head is 'loving those scripts'

"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" found its footing in its Season 1 finale, largely thanks to its connection to the Marvel movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." That great symbiotic relationship between the Marvel films and their small screen counterpart will continue in Season 2, says ABC President Paul Lee.

"I can't be specific about it, but what I can say is we had such a strong set of stories through that huge finale at the end," he tells reporters at 2014 summer TV press tour. "That triggered up a whole load of story lines we're reading at the moment, and I have to say I'm loving those scripts."

ABC announced that "Agents of SHIELD" will return on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m., and "Agent Carter" will cover its midseason break. When Zap2it spoke with showrunners Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon after the Season 1 finale, they teased a lot of the big questions left resolved at the end of the show's freshman season.

Of Coulson's mysterious new interest in seemingly alien writing, Whedon says with a laugh, "That's a big question." Tancharoen adds, "I guess we can say that's something we'll explore in Season 2."

As for Patton Oswalt playing both Billy and Eric Koenig, Whedon says, "We don't yet know. They're identical." "They look a lot alike and they maybe say similar things, but that does not completely mean what you're thinking," Tancharoen adds.

So glad it will be here in just about 2 months. I love having my weekly MCU fix and I think season 2 is going to be balls to the wall. Does anyone know when they start filming?

Both AOS and AC can't get here fast enough!

I am curious in general to see if the AOS holiday break will happen with a "present day" cliffhanger event that as a history tied to the Agent Carter show (nothing specific in mind at the moment). AC plays out its story, then AOS wraps up the event.

It would be quite difficult to link the two shows because of the time difference...maybe some villain from present day link to the past. It could be some HYDRA that been frozen in time and now been reactive in the present day....I not sure if AC will still be going after HYDRA people though

Sure, that was all I was thinking, an item/weapon discovery or an MCU "historical" event that occurs in AC that has ramifications in the future that the AOS team has to deal with... kinda of like the Hydra weapon in AOS episode 2 or like you are suggesting, a possible villain origin. Just some minor bit of MCU proof of "Its all connected", that's all. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a crossover related to Zodiac.

Looking at the calendar, if the show starts on September 23 it should air 6 straight episodes and be off for November 4th (Election Day). Then it should air 4 episodes and end on December 2nd. I expect no new episodes for the remainder of 2014.

I assume that Agent Carter will start on January 6 and run 8 episodes straight, which means it will end on February 24th.

AoS will probably start the second half of season 2 on March 3. *If* they run 12 episodes straight through, then it should end on May 19, which gives us 3 episodes after Age of Ultron.

However, they may run the last episode of AC and the first episode of the second half of AoS back to back, which means AoS ends on the 12th of May.

Just some fanboy speculation.

Agent Coulson and ‘SHIELD’ Are in ‘a Bit of a Pickle’ in Season 2

Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at 10:45am PST - by Josh Wigler

New job, new responsibilities, new dangers.
When Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in September for its second season, fans can expect things to heat up for Phil Coulson, recently appointed director of the recently dissolved Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
“Last we saw them, they were being hunted,” co-showrunner Jed Whedon tells Zap2It.com. “They were no one’s friends. They’re in a bit of a pickle when we find them.”
Coulson in particular will be having a hard time trusting people, given all of the Hydra betrayals at the end of the first season.
“Once we could say ‘Hydra’ and there were double-crosses and spies in our midst, the show got really interesting,” said executive producer Jeffrey Bell, “and so [we're] continuing that with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson not willing to trust people and not willing to bring people in, but having to because he doesn’t have as many resources; we think we can keep that ‘trust no one’ alive.”
Overall, the people running Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. feel much more confident about their second season than their first, which was panned by many critics, despite an uptick in quality with the final cluster of episodes.
“We have our arcs, we have our tentpoles, and we have quite a few off the board,” said co-showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen. “We’re starting production on our first episode next week, so that’s pretty fun.”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

As long as the death is Ward, the return is Fitz... Then I'm happy.

I expect "Ward" to be kill off as Skye and Coulson still have a important role May is going to be Coulson number 2.....Fitz will return to Simmons so it has to be Tripett , Ward, or Eric koenig

I don't think any of the regular will die.....they still a lot of story to tell with fitz and simmons but who knows......is that source really reliable at all
