This is from Bear McCreary's blog, looks like Miles Lyndon (Skye's ex) is coming back.

Surprisingly impressive season start! Intriguing mystery building and layered twists. Building neatly off of last season's conclusion while also being quite right-of-the-bat.

Instant introduction and pretty cool use of The Absorbing Man was a nice hook of the episode.

Loved that he used the ball and chain  very good start to this series. I like the little bit of friction between skye and coulson too

Yeah the episode was very good. Started off with a bang, wasn't awkward, left you wanting more. :)

So she infiltrated Hydra and got promoted to their head of security in a couple of months? I don't buy it.
If she did, why would they have to find out from Ward how Hydra communicate?

Considering like half of hydra was shield she likely had some "friends" vouge for her who are also hydra

Makes sense. Presumably, that is (or will be) part of what she meant last night, when she mentioned reaching out to former Rising Tide members while researching Garrett's markings.

So apparently this is about a 60 percent drop from last season?
Too little to late I guess, shouldn't have spent three quarters of a season being awful.

Now it will probably get canceled in time for me to start loving it.

If they can stay about 2 it might be ok. If they have a share in the profits from merchandising it will help.

I don't need the concept of the Lifestone Tree. This idea of power gems being scattered around that people want to possess...that's too similar to what is going on in the films. I could see them doing that though.

I agree with the bold. I was just trying to figure out if there are any Kree objects from the comics that it could be, but who knows if it will even be something that originated in the comics.

I think the idea that it somehow has something to do with Whitehall's longevity is a good guess. Maybe it will be the linguistic "key" that helps Skye finally decode all that Kree writing she's been analyzing, somehow.

It's not going anywhere. A 2 for this show is probably where it will hover for the most part and thats actually not a bad rating.

I'm hoping that's the case. but the fact there's no other screen shots of her from any other episode, the fact the interview i just posted said she's dead and only in one episode, and the fact their reasoning was basically because they "psychoed" her by giving the character more invested weight because of the actress who played her. Makes me think...... maybe not.

which is a shame, because Lucy kicks so much ass... she needs a regular gig post Xena/Spartacus
REMEMBER, she picked up the Alien Artifact, bet she turns into something. Her arm reminded me kind of one of the characters Ben Grimm and even Cap fought, but I don't recall the name.

it's about a 60% drop from season 1's premiere episode (which I'm pretty sure most people NEVER expected would be maintained).

This episode's 2.1/5.9 million viewers is pretty much level/matched what the last half (13 episodes or so) of season 1 did. Those ratings that kept it among the top rated shows for ABC. If it, at the very least, maintains this, I'm not concerned.

She's dead for now unless they didn't stop the spreading of the substance in time & it still somehow resurrects her.

They probably already have someone in mind for Luke Cage, someone who is younger than Henry Simmons (who is 43).

Simmons doesn't look that old and would've been great in the role. He seems a bit wasted on this part here. If he ends up looking more like Cage than the actor cast that will be even more annoying.

Still think she'll return. The HUMAN part of her might have died YES, BUT, the new creation could be something all together different.
We might get something in Agent Carter on what the obelisk was as well. :D

I'll add that I'm stunned that they cast the role of Alphonso Mackenzie, and no one stopped to think "wait...this guy really should be Luke Cage instead!"

lol..i said the same thing earlier..He looks so much like Bendis' Cage it hurts

Years ago I thought Simmons should be Cage. They better have someone truly amazing in mind for Luke otherwise this is such a lost opportunity.

Now imagine if Hiddleston was cast as Thor instead of Loki.

I wonder how long it'll be before they come back to the blue alien. Not even a mention of it in this ep.

I also want to know who the "friends" were in London. I'd love to see MI-13 or Captain Britain.

Yeah I was down with Simmons as Cage years ago, but them going for someone younger now makes sense to me.

Is Captain Britain tied to the X-Men (who are with Fox)? Maybe they could use other British-based characters to fill the void (i.e. Black Knight, Union Jack, etc.).

YES there was! Look again at the very beginning, the SSR part. The Alien was in a box!

not to mention Skye was trying to decipher the writings both Garret and Coulson were making

Those Kree markings Skye were studying were from Garret? Can someone remind me of when that happened? Like what episode or a screen cap? I understand he took the formula, but I don't remember him doing anything like that.

I just remember the last scene with Coulson writing on that wall, so I thought he had somehow slipped those markings to Skye under false pretenses on how they were obtained to see what she could dig up about it.
