I'm guessing this would've come up already if this happened, but

Did anyone see anything in GOTG that would tie any of the alien symbols to the MCU? I'm talking at Quills dig site, on Ronan's hammer, in the background? any vague shapes that would match up?

If there's nothing there I'm almost ruling out Kree as the language. What about Celestials?

Someone mentioned a throne (that Ronan was sitting on?).

Supposedly on either side of him on his 'throne' here, some say the symbols seem similar:

I've also seen some say they think they see similar symbols on or near the door to that room when it gets closed (when the Ravagers begin their assualt/when the Guardians breach the hull to the ship)

Thanks. I looked at the picture and it does look like some kind of braille or something behind him. Could match up I guess. Without the lines it's tough though.

There were two possible potential links: (1) The red cross-hatch symbol on Ronan's uniform consisted of intersecting perpendicular lines. That vaguely resembles the same type of symbols (though with no circles). (2) There was a claim that similar symbols were seen in Ronan's main control room/throne/bridge/whatever. Unfortunately, I can't find a picture of it now (picture above!), but I never saw it, hard as I tried. So IMO, 1 seems possible but weak, and 2 seems like wishful thinking or misinterpretation of a low-lit picture.

I'm open to considering non-Kree possibilities for the Blue man and his writing, but I'm not sure what those possibilities would be.

One other important fact, in Eye-Spy, when we first saw the markings on the chalkboard, it was accompanied by some additional lettering off to the side (which has never been seen since then). This lettering is identical to the portrayal of Skrull writing in the 616 comics, which may be relevant.

Could we be headed towards a Skrull infiltration? :hmm

Edit: beaten to it.

Think they would save skrulls for the movies. Could be wrong though. They wouldn't be hard to adapt for tv.

Another (more mundane) possibility for the Skrullish writing is that is actually Chitaureese, perhaps copied from an artifact recovered after the battle of New York.

Promo for episode 2.

So it looks like, with her on the bike and Hunter still next to the overturned SUV, I'm assuming that this ep is going to pretty much pick right up immediately with where Ep 1 ended.

Here's the youtube version of that first clip from Episode 2:

Oh oh she is back !

By the way, I'm a huge fan of Triplett, he is very charismatic

Skye: "...he can turn any body part into any material.."
Coulson: "ok, enough of that..."

Skye is a very bad girl.

I tried to watch the first episode of this season, i thought an awesome villain like absorbing man could get me into it....

nope...

had to turn it off less than 15 minutes in, couldn't make it any further. it was a huge mistake to make this series. Making a Marvel show with main characters that no one gives a **** about was a dumb move. I see this getting cancelled soon, hopefully it makes room for a tv series based on a character we give a damn about

I'm sorry you don't care about the main characters. I do care about them (even Ward), and judging by the posts here, I'd say I'm not the only one. So clearly it's not "no one" as you claim.

Anyway, enjoy your extra hour of free time each week, and don't spend it all in one place!

Wouldn't it be a more constructive use of your time to post positive comments on a forum for a DC property you like?

I guess I'm a rarity these days, as I seem to like both, but these DC vs Marvel troll wars are really starting to wear out their welcome.

He really is, its great whe he's on screen.

Just got done with the season opener, I feel like this was a good first episode. Not great, no "bang" kind of opening, but I'll be happy to watch a season' worth of this ep or better ones.

I wonder what happened to Agent Blake. After he was attacked by Deathlok he was sent to a SHIELD hospital, then HYDRA happened and he hasn't been heard from since.

Sorry you feel that way...........

The more obivous link is the symbol on Ronan's chest. It's none too clear in the film but if you look at the toys they made of him that symbol is rather like the one seen on the chest of the blue corpse:

I can't say I saw any of the 'code' Coulson & Garret scrawled in GOTG though. I've seen a larger photo of Ronan's 'throne' btw, and those symbols are not the same.

Edit: Added a close up of them:

looks almost like Egyptian or biblical glyphs
