Alcohol thread

Fireball gets you crunk. I had two of them, on top of a few other drinks, a few weeks ago and I felt like jumping up and ***** slapping the man in the moon.

Drinking some Bacardi right now. It's a rum night. Captain Black? Good stuff.

What are some your favorite drinks, guys? Mixed, liquors, beers, etc...

I, myself, am a fan of Guinness, other dark beers, and various ciders when I'm drinking over time. If I'm wanting to get lit, it's straight shots or Kamikazis.

I'm not a huge drinker. Brown liquors give me heartburn these days, and I'm a bit of a beer snob. My favorite is Delirium Tremens. Soooooo good.

You know what I've never been able to get into? Beer. I don't like the taste of most cheap domestic beers, I can't afford to constantly buy specialty beers, and I need to drink far too many of them to get good & drunk.

I can take the taste of a $5 bottle of wine, and it's twice as strong. Sometimes 3x.

I am fan of vodka. I think I may have some Russian ancestors. I also love Patron. I got out of mixed drinks and all that jazz in my twenties, but I do mix a mean White Russian and B-52s when I have company or I want something sweet or milky.

If it's tequila for us, it's either Herradura or AsomBroso. So yummy. I just think Patron is overpriced considering the previous 2 I find better and cheaper.

I tasted some great tequilas when I was in Mexico a couple of years back, but many of them are next to impossible to find stateside.

Guinness absolutely.

I like a bit of Amaretto now and then too.

My favorite beverages:

Beers:

1. Heineken. Spent a lot of time in France in Heineken bars/bars where Hemingway frequented, drinking this, and watching the World Cup, or talking about literature from the 1920's.
2. Bitburger.
3. Yuengling. Lived off this in college; I'd scrape $6 every other Thursday night and pick myself up a six pack, and go through a few bottles watching MST3K.

Other

-In college, I loved filling a glass half with Schwepp's Ginger Ale, the other half with Imperial Whiskey, when I could cough up the few extra bucks for a bottle.
-In France, when our group ate out, I'd grab a whiskey sour.
-Le Sandeman(think I spelled it right.) English port. Delicious.
-I like merlot and rose.

And that's about it. The above items were discovered over four year period of time. However, thanks to the concussion I acquired a year ago, I have not had a drink in that time period (it would disagree with what I am taking to help with the headaches and cause stomach bleeding.)

Ever since I fell into the liquor trap, I've almost waved goodbye to beer. I'll drink a Yuengling, Dos Equis, or PBR when I go out, but I don't buy six packs anymore. Almost bought a Johnny Hash a few weeks ago and lately I've been craving an Arrogant Bastard.

I've been craving rum and cokes like a mofo lately. I need a new bottle since the liter I have is Cruzan Strawberry. Speaking of fruity rums, I had a Bob Marley in a Jamaican bar in ATL back in March. 5 different rums in a colorful, delicious concoction.

That sounds delicious.

The bartender made 'em real good, too. The 151 was the spicy meatball sitting on top. The drink tastes like candy at the bottom of course, but the top layer is what gets your ripe for a walk about downtown/Underground Atlanta.

Wine and beer are my friends. I'm German, so any German beer does well for me. I prefer Erdinger Weissbier and Krombacher. As for wine, I like the cabernet/merlot blends from Chile and Australia.

I used to down Jack Daniels like no tomorrow, but after having to be carried home twice, I stopped. It's the devil.

Beer can taste of anything, though. Most of the world just drinks pissy, yellow, semi-sweet lager things, but there is so much more to it than that. I'm a wine lover first and foremost, but I have to acknowledge that it appears to be able to manipulate barley, hops and water to a similar effect. My local has about eight real ales on draught, one of which is brews itself, and all of them are as different from one another as eight randomly selected wines would be.

I've found some beers I really like at the local Oktoberfest, but damned if I can remember any of their names.

Fireball is now my preferred shot when I go out to the bar. Don't mind doing a little Jagermeister every now and then.

Has anyone had a beer called Shiner Bock? My local bar just got it in and I've been meaning to try it.

Dear Lord...hangover guaranteed.

My go to drink of choice is a good scotch, has to be at least a 12 year and single malt. Screw that blended garbage. I'll take out half a bottle at least in a night just sipping. Usually take it on the rocks but depending on the scotch I may take it neat depending on the mouth feel and the taste.

For beer I love all of them really, crafts especially but lately I have been having to go to the little Shell station across the street. If that's the case than Bud Light Platinum will usually do the trick, give me about 9-11 of those and I feel alright

I decided to give Miller Fortune a try. It really was like drinking water. Not much flavor, so it's like mildly alcoholic water. The positive being it doesn't taste bad.

If I ever forget to drink water between alcoholic drinks, I usually down about a quart of water at the end of the night. Combined with the alcohol, there's usually an ungodly amount of pissing involved afterward.

For my paren'ts 25th anniversary we opened a bottle of Crown Royale from 1978 that was given to them as a wedding present in 89. Extremely smooth but my tongue felt like I had been shot up with novocaine.
