Yep that's right it seems they just started showing the series this week.
I watched back in the day but now some of the jokes seems dull that a show like this would never become a hit in todays TV landscape, people know crap when they see it (sometimes) and ALF soon becomes rather predictable and bothersome.
I read somewhere that it was a pain for the actors on set since they had to take lots of breaks to set up the ALF puppet, mostly it was done with puppeteering (like the Muppets) and for longshots when they needed ALF to walk or run they would place a little person in an ALF suit.
