Sega Alien: Isolation

Lame at least have an auto save

No, auto saves completely RUIN games like this. Absolutely no reason for an auto save feature to be in any kind of survival horror game, ever. Saving in games like this should be a luxury, something that, when you come across, is a huge sigh of relief. One of the worst things to ever happen to survival horror is the implementation of a garbage auto save system.

I'm glad to hear there are no auto saves. Puts the player in complete control.

Auto saves make the player lazy. Creates an auto 'easy difficulty'

So, I was in Wal-Mart today, and they were selling copies that had the original cast DLC pre-order stuff advertised on the box. If anyone missed that, you may have an opportunity to do so. I may end up getting it after all. I really shouldn't, but the impressions are making me more and more interested and since I still have the possibility of getting that original cast DLC...

Molotoving the Xenomorph feels so GOOD. Seeing it flee in terror is the funniest thing ever.

Yea that DLC is gonna be found in most first run copies. It shouldn't be too hard to find it in the early goings. My copy was supposed to be here today but now the shipping info says tomorrow.

I looked on the store, and apparently the original cast DLC is only $3.99 anyway. I was expecting it to be sold for double that. It must not be a huge amount of content to begin with.

Enjoying the game so far. It hasn't been scary, though. Tense at times, but not scary.

I've been scared out of my brain whenever the Alien is around. Right now I'm hiding in a closet. Don't want to leave.

HALP.

I’ve only come across the alien twice so far, but both were scripted moments. I just got to the communications deck where you first come across the androids. Honestly, THOSE have been the creepiest part for me, and they’re just innocently walking around (for now, lol).

The graphics and level design for this game are stellar, though. I really feel like I’m walking around a ship from the Alien franchise. I’d love/hate to play this with an Occulus Rift.

Right now, my only complaint is the cut scenes - every single cut scene stutters and the frame rate gets extremely choppy. Anyone else have this problem (PS4)?

Yeah, the androids bug me more than the alien. That slow gait along with putting umpteen bullets into them with no effect can get frustratingly eerie.

The wrench is your friend. It's amusing to see when I watch other people play as soon as they find the revolver, they forget about the other items they have.

So are all the live humans that have splintered off and are walking around are they all dangerous and will they all attack you?

Yeah I have the same problem as does another friend of mine, they look pretty bad on my TV.

Also I have the Alien stalking me pretty much everywhere now, very unnerving.

[BLACKOUT]Goddamn face huggers.[/BLACKOUT] :cmad:

When more Alien creatures show up at the end, are you ever actually able to fight and kill one or only make them run away with the flame thrower?

[BLACKOUT]Yes. But don't think you can Commando through it though. As there are more of them you might risk getting double teamed. [/BLACKOUT]

I noticed the same thing, also on PS4.

I played the first hour or so and love the slow burn feel. Really reminded me of the first film. I haven't yet come across the creature yet, save for its "introduction" but Im already sure that im not looking forward to it.

two pod casts one in both video & Audio the other in just Audio.

The game is creepy and atmospheric and looks great. The suspense builds. Playing in the dark with my headset on makes it so much better. But yes like others I'm on ps4 and the frame rate during cut scenes is horrible and choppy/laggy.

Been playing a few hours now on hard setting and yes I have died plenty of times already. I recently was caught by an andriod and hid in a closet, but the bastard found me and killed me :(
I'm loving this game so far

So I love the hell out of this game. It's the scariest game I've ever played. As a player, you definitely feel powerless. The frame rate thing is bugging the hell out of me though. There have been many moments where I'll be watching the Alien creep around, and his frame rate plummets. It's so goddamn choppy.

Been absolutely loving this game, but it's getting near the end and it feels as if it is overstaying its welcome. And the Alien is just frustrating me now.

I had to take a break from this game now. I'm in a medlab right now and I'm moving from hideout to hideout and the alien barely misses me every damn time. My pulse is racing and I'm sweating as well. This is not good for my heart :oldrazz:
