Aliens is in fact the best film I have ever seen. It literally engulfs you and takes you directly from your seat and into the screen. Not many if any films can do that for the entire length of the movie. There really isn't a film out there that will draw you into it quite like Aliens. Whether you loved it or hated it, it will leave you on the edge of your seat or curled up inside of it. In comparison scifi/action films today have you pretty much lawning and ready to go to sleep.

on a documentary called the alien saga on amc, michael biehn said that he was devastated that they killed off his character. tyhey never said anything about bringing him back

i also read someplace else that james cameron f**ked up the evolution of the alien. and that the original movies writers never intended for there to be a queen. it was all cameron. they actually had it to where a victim of an attack by an alien would actually mutate into an egg with a facehugger inside of it. frankly i think camerons idea with the queen is a lot better.

Exactly, an A3 script was even written with Hicks and Bishop in mind.

Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 are all very good. They're also quite conveniently in order of how good they are. Alien is best, then Aliens, and then Alien 3.

I do think however that Alien 3 is about as good as Aliens, it was very moody, I loved the setting and the claustrophobic quality of the prison. I also enjoyed all of the characters, probably to an even greater extent than the characters in Aliens (in which I thought they where a bit too stereotyped and clichéed).
Alien is without a shadow of a doubt the best of the movies though. None of them even comes close.

Resurrection was somewhat entertaining, but ultimately flat, uninspired, unoriginal and just pretty damn messed up...

Well, I love Aliens to death (it was the movie that really got me into IT), but the fact is, Cameron took ALOT of it from the Starship Troopers book so, it's not the most original thing ever.

As for the "humans turnig into eggs thing" I suggest that you watch that deleted scene (it was actually shot) before you judge it. I actually think that it would've been and interesting... alternative.

Alien 4 sucked ass... Alien 1 and 3 are master-pieces, Aliens is an awesome action movie. As for Alien 3 if all you can say is that they kill off 2 characters so it sucked... Then I pity you

Dunno.... I think one problem with this is, there were many scripts flying around for A3. About 20 writers got hired and fired off the project - we may never know who's fibbing and who isn't.

As far as the victims morphing into eggs debacle, I agree that was an interestingly gross touch, but for sheer drama and added fear-factor, the Queen was a brilliant idea (in my opinion anyways).

I've always been surprised Heinlein's estate (or is he still alive, I don't know) didn't sue over the fact that about half of Aliens seems to be lifted out of "Starship Troopers" unchanged. I mean, they just went in there and TOOK Starship Troopers! Amazing that Cameron wasn't sued out of his socks for that one!

i would like to see a movie where they go back to lv 426 and see what happened and discover the derelict spacecraft, thus giving a background to the "space jockeys." maybe then they could run into the free floating sullaco and see what happened, just a though though.

it could occur with and in between aliens and alien 3, i would really like to see that.

I think that the point of both Hicks and Newt getting killed immediately at the beginning of Alien 3 was as if to say "s**t happens". Alien 3 is by far the most realistic, down-to-earth Alien film ever made.

The worst thing about this boxset is that you have to buy the whole thing in order to get the bonus disc. The last thing I want to do is buy Alien, Alien3 and A4.

Alien definatley the first but Aliens was good too, it was far better than MANY or MOST sequels, unlike most they had a pretty good story and a reason to make another one, But the first is still my fav

the ending for alien 3 set it up to where that would be the end of the alien franchise. it had ripleys recording of what happened on the nostromo in the first movie. alien ressurection was just a cheap way to make more money
