Dotn worry there is no human-Pred tem ups in this one. I asked The Director in a PM on IMDB and he garanteed No TEAM-UPS

He was actually going to have a cameo in AVP, but he had to pull out.
That would have made 1 positive thing about that movie.

Why'd he pull out?

The first Predator and Alien movie didnt cost 40 million right? Lets hope AVP2 goes back to the roots of the franchise. A nobel Predator and Aliens that just kill everything in sight ... I do NOT want a Predator - Human teamup. That absolutely sucked in AVP :(

Oh I don't know...I thought it was pretty clever, considering the Predator is a creature that can be reasoned with to a certain extent.

The only reason the Predator teamed up with that woman was b/c he saw the dead Alien and realized 'Hey, maybe she isn't so worthless after all..."

yeah i found it interesting...

although if he had teamed-up with a bad actress then thats a different story..
Predator and Beyonce team-up :wow:

respect for weaver. thank god she was not in alien 4 :o:whatever::dry::cmad:

I take it you never saw Resurrection?

I think FOX pulling out of Comic-Con is fishy. Seems they're not so hot about showing this film to fans...

40million budget, not alot nowadays. Im sure most of it spent on cgi/models for pred/aliens. Theres been lot of movies that have had small budgets and done well.
Far as Weaver not wanting to be tied with AvP thats her progitive. Maybe she just wants to distance herself from that stereotype, which is too late imo..I will always know Weaver as Ripley as Arnold will always be knows as the Terminator just the nature of the beast.

actually the reason is because Comic Con doesn't want R rated footage being shown

That sucks even more than what I thought. Well, at least it's not the studio backing off of it. And as said before, we all get to see it now.

actually other sources are reporting that fox is going ahead after all. its still up in the air....

Such as the original Predator which was made on $18 million. $40 million is not bad actually; Blade was made on $40 million and it was an awesome film.

Obviously, since those were their defining roles. I'm inclined to think though that Weaver wanted to distance herself from the movies only b/c the Alien series took a decline once Alien 3 came out.

I went to their forums and I've gotta say...I feel for you Bishop. I've read CHUD's supposed inside information on why SDCC was having an issue with the trailer, but someone on the site brought up a very valid point- Grindhouse was shown unedited with no offense taken. Plus, at the price people are paying it's mostly adults going in the first place. If the material is graphic they should deal with that in the process of letting people into the screening. I just don't see the logic in it.

although this may or may not include AvP2. either way, were getting the trailer soon

If Fox is so worried about offending anyone then why dont they have the trailer in a secluded room. They can check ppl's ID's or something if they are worried about offending children or the easily offended :)
I just wonder if theres more too Fox pulling out than just the R-rated trailer...they can tone down the trailer some just make it a teaser or something..

Even bad films can have good trailers how hard is it to edit together a trailer. Do they not have 5 seconds of footage that would make this film look veiwable...

FOX will always promote mediocre cinema as much as possible. If they've finally made a quality film under Rothman's nose, I think this reaction would be a good sign if anything. So, to me, it's 50/50 on how this film might turn out. I'm trying to hold out some hope and say that the interviews hold much more truth about the final product than The Last Stand's, but this is FOX. They're notorious for telling people what they want to hear and not what reflects the final product.

At this point, I would seriously be surprised if the good parts of this film make it solely into the trailer. There are a lot of elements bringing down this franchise- FF2 proved that the first film counts for reaction to the second, and on such a low budget than even last time bringing things into space may not be enough to save this concept.
