but he didn't intend to. it would have been much more in character (and heroic if that's what anderson was going for) for him to set the self destruct, motion for the girl to run and start taking out aliens until it went off.

That would've been better. It would've been cool if we would've had a final showdown between Grid and Scar, and in the end a last struggle against the Alien Queen. Then like in the Movie she'd impale him, draw him closer to her, Scar gives us a final roar and the self-destruct devise goes off.

Requiem or AVP-R for short. This is worse than "survival of the fittest" It's like they are trying to make this the lamest movie ever made.

yeah, sounds crap doesnt it? requiem was the name of the multiplayer deathmatch arena in AvP2 for the PC. They probably chose it cause it "sounded cool."

AVP2 was just fine. Aliens vs. Predator was too close to the film that everyone is trying to stray away from. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is not only a mouthful and reminiscent of Anderson's RE sequels, it also gives the cryptic feel that this is the last foray into the possibility. That's not motivational- it's really sad that this series might just end with this film. I don't know...after all of this mess, I think someone might have thoroughly jumped the shark with this title.

In the end, it's just a title. I just hope that's all it proves to be.

I would love to someday live to see a revival where a version of Peter Briggs' script (maybe with a retooled final act and some trimming) was used in a feature film on this subject, but alas...that's never going to happen with a budget less than 60 million.

briggs' script wasn't particularly good...that said, it was better than AvP...and is most likely to be better than Requiem For A Predator or whatever theyre calling it.

Shame really, I always thought Aliens vs Predator would make for an amazing movie. Guess not.

Aliens vs Predator really should be a great movie and I think the fact that the last one was SO average simply highlights the total lack of vision and skill the director had!

Requiem sounds fine to me. Better than just Aliens vs. Predator and a hell of a lot better than the goofy Alien vs. Predator: No Peace on Earth.

But since we've cycled through five titles so far, feel free to place your bets on when a new one will be announced and what it will be.
