Aliens Vs Predator

The only big issue with me is that I don't want another ADI Newborn. I want the kind of creature that fans of the Alien life cycle can accept and not a Predator with a tail. That's probably what annoys me so much about how the Predalien looks like in AVP2- great game, but that Predalien looks like less of an Alien taking a few marginal Predator attributes and more like a Predator born without eyes.

They went through ASSLOADS of Newborn designs based on Jeunet's directions before he finally approved of that one. So it's not like that was their personal choice. You can see some of the others in the Making of Alien Resurrection book. Personally, I thought it was a good choice for the "human/alien hybrid" concept. At least better than a giant bone-white creature with six legs that drinks blood.

Oh, I understand they're not the sole source of blame. Jeunet was definitely looking for what he wanted, and while they did make it and seemed somewhat pleased in the commentary with it the design approval ultimately falls upon the director. But I honestly don't see why Whedon's Newborn was so bad. I mean, bristle-like veins covering bone-white skin on a body that makes me think of a bullfrog with the description of powerful haunches...and then the killing method of draining people through the mouth with the tongue after restraining the head with pincers...I really didn't agree with much in Whedon's script, but I just thought it was much more awesome than what we got. My sole gripe is that we never really find out what happened to the Queen in that version.

Colin Strause has posted over on AVP Galaxy that the trailer's almost here.

The international trailer is being delivered tomorrow, and then the US one on tuesday. After prints are made and the final audio is mixed it will be ready for release. I can't see that taking more than a few days after they get the locked picture.

The most popular theory is that it'll probably be attached to Death Sentence on the 31st.

My problem with it is that it doesn't make any god damn SENSE. How is that an Alien/Human hybrid creature?

It sounds neat for a monster in SOME movie, but it's so insanely illogical that I can't give it a pass here. It was a huge WTF.
