Brian Tyler Talks AvP2

There's a new interview with music composer, Brian Tyler, on MusicFromTheMovies.com. It's mostly about the psychological horror film Bug but there's a couple of things about AvP2 right at the end:

MFTM: You’re now working on Alien vs. Predator 2. What are your impressions of the kind of music needed for AVP2?
Brian Tyler: It is going to be wild wild crazy wild! I really want to bring the world of Alien and Predator together musically. There will be references to the tradition of those classic scores. The music of the Predator is more organized and methodical while the Alien music is certainly extreme and frighteningly primal. The score will be purely orchestral.

MFTM: Will you be using actual musical motifs from Alien and Predator or using music in the style of those films?
Brian Tyler: There will be some homage’s to the music of the earlier films in there. But mostly it will be conceptually bringing the two musical worlds together. One thing I can say for sure, it is going to be big!

I really hope the Predalien is cooler than the stupid "hybrid" alien we saw at the end of Alien Ressurection. God I hate that film (although the underwater scene was well done, imo and of course it had Sigourney who is just 100% badass).

Well CS confirmed that Darkness' speculation was wrong, but there will be an alien hive. In all honesty, who didnt expect to see that? all the movies this year have let me down...and now it looks like Die Hard 4 will too. heres hoping AVP2 is the surprise success.....

Alien vs Predator 2 for PSP?

Well, it was rumoured a while ago that there could be a tie-in video game for the AvP2 movie. Game Shack.ca, a canadian shopping site, has got Alien vs Predator 2 down to be released for PSP on November 20, 2007. It's listed on the site from Products - Coming Soon - Video Games.

Update: Also listed on CDUniverse.com. Release date is November 21, 2007.

I still say that these AVP movies are ****ing up the continuity, for the Alien franchise, not so much the Predator one. If the Goverment gets involved in this one, then they'll know about the Aliens existance, so the future agencies, in the first Alien movie, would have already known about the Alien- especailly the Weyland Industry. They should have moved this franchise into space, where no more humans would know about the Aliens existance. Only one knew at the end of AVP 1 and more than likely she wouldn't tell anyone the entire truth, because who would believe her.

AVP2 should have taken place on the Aliens homeworld. But then again, Hollywood always presumes that we the audience need human characters in the movies to relate too, so an AVP2 movie in space, with no human charcters would be un-doable in their opinion.

They could make it that the company gets word of the creature from the government and they want it for themselves but can't get one because they are all killed at the end of the film, thus begins Weyland-Yutani's long quest to obtain one. I don't know if that would work or not though?

It's still and Alien, just because a Predator was its host I don't see why it should be any special and suddenly start doing his own thing.
