you will be surprised at how some of the most iconic films were made with a low budget and smaller scale.

Imagine how much of the budget of AVP went into the sets its all about how to best use the money available.

I always wanted the first one to be called Aliens Versus Predator I never liked the AVP tittle it sounds like a cheap commodity to me, I love those movies they are great action/horror classics and good old Paul WS Anderson ****ed it up, so far as I'm concerned he owes me $13 for the ticket and the 8 months I wasted anticipating his film only to find I was duped by his trailer and the movie failed to impress. I hope like hell he sees this new one and fells bad for the piece of **** he ripped us of with.

*sigh* I really don't feel like copy and pasting every single post the two directors have made on AvPGalaxy/IMDB/AlienExperience. Just wait for the trailer, then you can actually have something to judge.
the unspeakable truths u say,but ur quoting stuff from IMDB that ur first mistake. I don't think imbd is a very reliable website to say the least..

Yes I know, I'm not dumb. The brothers are registered there. Which means their accounts are...THEIR accounts. It has their e-mails listed in their profiles, and if they were fakes, they would have been taken down a long time ago.

Here's a little something from the fangoria.com message boards that would be great if they could get these smilies for SSH.

yeah I know, but....ive pretty much done that on the first page. (the reason why a new thread was allowed)

any new visitors to this thread REALLY got to check out my beautifully crafted first page.

3 aliens??????? there will definately be alot more than that....3 was only in a very early draft.

I've read AVPGalaxy and Alien Experience's interviews for some time now. In fact, that's the origin of the article I posted. I still don't see the discrepancy between what they've been reporting and the information available to us now on this very thread.

Precisely. So far, every single piece of information we've gotten jives with the original screenplay review we got like a year ago. They've confirmed almost every scene mentioned in the review (Predator ship sequence, sewer sequence, woods and hospital events which reveal the creatures), all the same characters have been confirmed. Big changes? Well, so far we can tell that the movie is not in Texas but in Colorado (due the fact that there's, you know, mountains in Vancouver, where the movie was shot) and that they didn't get K-Mart product placement for the store sequence.

The directors are trying to make the movie sound cool - big surprise. Firstly, that's their jobs. Secondly, they've never directed a film in their lives, of course they're excited to do a big franchise like this. I'm not getting sucked into their hype - I still haven't heard them say anything that gets me excited. It all sounds like spin. Listen to all the "We're going back to the roots" crap - we heard that same noise on Alien Resurrection and the first AVP.

Honestly, the base concept of the movie - aliens and predators in modern small town America - is bad enough that I'd be pessimistic even if this was the return of James freaking Cameron.

Instead of full out AVP brawls, we get two monsters standing opposite one another swinging their limbs in random directions

I'm pretty sure that never happens in the first AVP. In fact, I can guarantee it doesn't.

What do you call Celtic swinging his Wristblades and Grid swinging his tail at each other?

I didn't mind when they brawled and smashed into stone tables and colums, but the bit where they are just trying to land hits was so embarrassing.

Well, they did actually hit each other. It's not just random flailing.

I concur, I didn't wait all that time just to see two guys in suits trying to enact a wrestling match. :csad:

Well... since the Strause Brothers have said that this film will go the same route of using mostly live actors and eschewing CGI as much as possible... don't expect a huge difference in how the battles are shot.

Neither of these AVP films has/had enough budget to truly stage an open war between the species, for good or bad...

I love the new title, way better than "AVP II" or "Alien vs. Predator: No Peace on Earth". Can't wait for this one!!

Well I don't see how a person can enact the Alien in a costume, but as far as the Predator goes, if smaller, classic versions are used, then an actor could move freely in it allowing for more fluid movements which could translate into better fighting.

Hey, Tom Woodruff's been inside the Alien suit since Alien 3 (well, some shots of Aliens, also) and he's pretty kickass at it. I gotta say I really dig the fact that he moves in such an unnatural, inhuman way.

Are your serious? Wow, that's amazing. I only said what I did b/c the alien costume seems so restricting...how DO you move? :oldrazz:

hopefully there'll be something good for this at comic con

Yep. There will be a trailer at Comic-con with footage from the film.

Well, apparently he has to balance the Alien head on TOP of his head, and he sees out through the neck... the head weighs like 20 pounds, so I guess it's pretty stressful. Plus he usually has to lose a lot of weight before each movie in order to fit into the skinny-ass alien skin. And the tail is controlled by wires. It's all pretty nuts. You can see some stuff about it on the Alien Quadrilogy set, and I also saw him talk about it at Comic-Con back in '04.
