ha ha your parents clearly were oblivious to him....

i studied him for my Art Coursework and i saw alot of his images and they were incredibly wierd....kinda of like magic eye pictures in whish you have to look twice to see what your really seeing....

one for instance was what looked like a giant pipe heading into a hole in a walll...on second glance you could make out what it really was....

im going to look some of his art up... and prepare for the worst.

Well, in all fairness the Stan Winston version of the Xenomorph was slightly "toned down" in terms of the sexual overtones, though it was still there to some degree. The Predator was designed entirely by Stan Winston, so there's really nothing sexual about it at all. Stan Winston and H.R. Giger have a completely different way of designing stuff, because Stan Winston is more of a designer and Giger is more of a fine artist. Stan Winston approaches a project like "how can I make this look cool?" wheras Giger approaches one as "how can I make this say something?"

It does look remarkably like a Xenomorph, but at the same time it's even more perverted.

would you say that james cameron deserves dual credit for the predator, stan winston has said that many of the creatures iconic features were his idea such as the dreadlocks and mandibles.

I wouldn't say equal credit, but he definitely deserved some, because the Predator wouldn't have been the same without the dreads or face mandibles. Cameron is quite the designer himself, and he actually did a lot of design work on Aliens too. He started his career as a design artist and became a director later, which is why he's one of my heroes.

look it up on google....i wont post it here cos it could be misconstrued by the Mods and i could get booted but lets just say it doesnt look like your average head gear....look at the images on a whole and see what you think they look like....cos in Gigers head thats how theyre meant to look

Is that the "penis landscape" pic? If so...yeah, I've seen it. Giger's mentioned quite a few times that his art is meant to provoke response, be it disgust or interest. I like his art for that creepy beauty of it, but I felt that pic in particular was a little excessive.

it was.....but theres a kind of pop art image that he has where there is a number of the same image except they in different colours etc and the image is of a type of either lock or coin slot or something but one of the images has been completely changed and its of a metal ladies area.(wow how childish do i sound?just dont want to be bollocked by the mods thats all)

i swear the guy is talented and a genius and i would love to get one of his originals no matter what the focal point of the picture was but i couldnt ever put it up if it was rude....my mums visits me and she'd go spare....she went mental when i had a half naked drew barrymore on my wall...eventually i took her out of the glass case and let her go home but still my mum wasnt impressed she was there in the first place

I saw AVPR yesterday and all I can say is What the hell was the point of that movie?!

There was barely any action with the Predator and the aliens.

When you finally get to the final battle that you think is suppose to be some big fight, instead they stab each other a bit then get blown up with the rest of the town! WTF!!! Stupid!!!

Here I thought, Wow a Pred-Alien, this is going to be huge, then instead of a step up from the last one it was a let down.

It was like a cheap slasher flick with people getting picked off in lame boring ways.

Worst sequel ever! I'd rather watch Batman and Robin.

The movie was utter crap. But it was entertaining crap! I went in with low expectations, left my brain at the door, and just wanted to be entertained.

i saw the movie yesterday, can i say i was impressed, as one of the biggest alien/predator fans it was superior to the 1st and was all around great, bros strause 1st time attempt great it all worked well, ppl are dissing it i dont know why, cryin coz the predalien had dreds or wateva it was a monster half breed who cares ? the music was great , Brian Tyler great score , man i came out like woah , the fight scenes were ace , i have no complaints , it wasn't suppose to be deep and meaningful , the actors although many unknown were quite good i thought , sum 1 said there was not enough action i read, there was more than enough. 8/10
