Predators vs Terminators. Now THAT would kick ass! Directed by Paul Vehoven.

I haven't seen the second one, only the first one, and by that standard set, it gets a 1.

If they set it on another planet telling the story of a young predator or predators trials, with minimum/no dialogue like the disney movie Benji The Hunted or Hell In the pacific it would have been a much better movie imo. No humans, at all.

Are we actually drawing a parallel between what we want out of Alien vs Predator film and BENJI movie?..What the Hell is going on here?!!

It might've been a better film had the Predator spaceship landed on another planet (Ryushi...?). The highlight of this film is the Predator portrayl. Since the Strause's were hired to lower the cost on SFX, they should've had the script rewritten to fit their strengths.

The more I think about it, the more I think AvP:R was the BS response to Anderson's portrayal of the Predators, nothing more.

Actually, it is. There's no reason to have more than one Queen running around, whereas it's very simple to have an Alien that chooses a host we're unfamiliar with. Just because we see human-born Aliens doesn't mean that all other Aliens are hybrids; we really haven't seen what a pure Alien is, anyways.

a pure alien?
hmm i never thought about that before but yer right, its an odd thought... i could dig on seeing that

Yep, the facehugger is the only "pure" Alien form. There is no pure grown form. Xenomorphs only take forms of hosts.

AvPvT would be cool, if it takes place during the Terminator war. The comic was in the Alien future, with some crappy new Terminators.

1. Young Queens being able to create Aliens on the move make the adult Queens pointless. The adults are sitting ducks as they lay eggs. One threat slips by the Aliens and it can be lights out for a Queen. If it's actually a young Queen, it's far more efficient than what it's supposed to mature into.

2. The crest could just be from the Pred skull underneath.

3. The PredAlien already got dreadlocks, mandibles, yellow skin, and takes out people's skulls just like a Pred (that's in the film). The life cycle would be just one more detail. It even restrains its victims with its mandibles. That would be useful for mating with mandibles; a Queen could just use her hands and avoid putting the host in peril. The impulse to do that implies yet another Pred trait.

Actually, I would think that the "young Queen" reproductive method, if that's what it is, would be a disadvantage in a way, because she HAS to have hosts at hand to be able to reproduce at all. The mature Queen can lay thousands of eggs at her leisure, and then wait for the hosts to come to her. She's not at the mercy of available hosts, except for going from the facehugger-to-xenomorph stage - and if facehuggers are the "true" Alien form, even that may not be seen as an biological disadvantage. Perhaps facehuggers are the "real" Aliens, i.e., "Aliens at peace", and the creation of xenomorphs is just a defense mechanism, when foreign lifeforms invade the Aliens' grounds.

I was talking about the adult Alien form, if that wasn't self-evident.

And I don't see why it's a disadvantage. She can create extra Aliens for every fetus she finds, and every female host she finds promises at least one more. Couple that with her speed, and she could easily continue doing that and never put herself in danger. Remember, Dallas fires the same bullets that tore through her children with nothing but a gaze and a brisk walk in the other direction from the creature. It wasn't phased by the assault rifle. That shows that it's more than strong enough to endure while on the move.

Assuming that it really is a Queen, they really didn't think this through at all.

Lol, I think they did alot right with requiem with only some minor complaints , i liked the movie.

What's there to laugh at? Besides trying to bring the Predator back to form, there isn't a reason for this to exist. Though, I'd place the blame between the Brothers Strause and John Davis.

The Strauses had less power than most people would like to admit I think. More of the blame lies with Davis and Salerno IMO.
