Supergirl All About The Ratings!!!!!!

I spoke too soon about ratings, but besides Halloween I don't think last night's episode was well-promoted. We didn't get preview clips until a day or two before the episode.

Seems Supergirl stayed at 0.6.

I didn't figure it would be adjusted down....no reason to.

All shows were down last night....series TV is down as a whole, across the board on every network UNLESS it's a reality show, and even those are down quite a bit from last season.

People ARE JUST NOT watching live TV anymore, that is the bottom line....

This week it's more that it's Halloween.

Ouch! That is BAD. Hopefully she does a SUPER leap back up next week to at least a 2.7-2.8 cause 2.2 is not good.

I think it will bounce back in the coming weeks. None of the shows will ever pull in big numbers, as long as CW are happy with the ratings and can't replace it with a higher-rated show, the show will survive.

It was Halloween. Also, we have to be realistic. It is so easy to watch these shows later now. Even when I watch the Flash on Tuesdays, I DVR it so I don't have to deal with commercials.

Gotham and Lucifer held up quite a bit better than Supergirl last night.

Could be that Supergirl took a bigger hit on Halloween due to a younger audience.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about this drop. It was Halloween. I think it'll bounce back, and even if it didn't, by CW standards, these ratings are still fine.

I wonder if no Jimmy Olsen = low ratings.
:funny:

I keep seeing that said but when The Flash has gone the past 2 seasons with stellar ratings, I can't see people dropping tv that much just in time for SG to come to TheCW.

It probably was Halloween but if it wasn't dropping almost a million viewers within 4 episodes is not good even by CW standards and if they dropped that quickly (again if it isnt because of Halloween) then there is no telling how much more they will drop before they even out.

The Flash has had significant drops this season too, so it's not just Supergirl.

It's really not that bad, though. It's standard for shows to drop in the episodes after their premieres and level off, then start to bounce back as they near their mid-season finales. Supergirl had a 2-part premiere with the highest-profile superhero in existence giving it a boost, so really it's only as if we're 2 eps after that "event" premiere (+Halloween). I see nothing to get concerned over by this. It'll level off soon enough.

The Flash is bleeding as well. Never dropped under 3m before this year. Now the last three episodes has been 2.8m, 2.67m and 2.8m.

It is happening across the board, every network. And for some reason the ad executives don't clue in. They keep doing the same thing, over and over.

Fox has dumped some of that thinking, although I think that some of their shows will end up getting axed after this season that they let pass on horrible ratings last year......"Scream Queens" being an example...

The CW has some room to grow, with "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" probably leaving after this season, TVD ending after this season, no more "Beauty And The Beast", etc...it has some room to grow.

It isn't bleeding viewers as much as SG has thus far.
TF:3.1-2.8-2.6-2.8 vs. SGs: 3.0-2.6-2.6-2.2

But im interested/intrigued/scared/excited to see the ratings for next week.

TheCW will most likely keep CEx-Gf around for at least 4 seasons even if the ratings are horrible, having an award winning show on their network is something they dont want to let go of.

Viewership really doesn't matter much to the ad people...it's that all important 18-49 demographic live viewing Nielsen rating that they seem to be married to... :cwink:

Very possible...IF it continues to win. ;)

Flash will likely be hit hard by the World Series tonight, considering Flash is one of the most male-skewing shows on all of television.

We'll have a better idea after the election is finally over.

See how it settled around 2.6m, but then Halloween happened?

Been holding your nose too long? lol
