Supergirl All About The Ratings!!!!!!

It always drops after the premiere. I feel like that premiere was probably strong enough to get people coming back though, so I'm just crossing my fingers it doesn't drop too much. I would love to see this show consistently rival The Flash's ratings, as I think they are the best of the CW lot.

While I am sure that it will be lower, I don't expect a significant drop.

Here is hoping that when they rerun these first two episodes of season 2 , they do it as a two hour movie.

That would be VERY cool.

I hope the drop isn't that big considering that they hyped the first two episodes with Superman.

Guys, lets just relax and enjoy the 2nd season. Try and not have meltdowns this go around...lol

CW doesn't have a high ratings threshold so as long as it's doing well enough they will keep it on. I don't think people have anything to worry about.

0.9 - a tad down from last week.

Oh wow. I was hoping it would manage to stay around 2.9+ since Flash has managed the same for majority of its run so thats sad. Hopefully it goes up after DWTS is over.

From 3mil to 2.6mil isn't remotely bad. And next week could easily do better.

Really all the ratings amount to are bragging rights. It's not like Supergirl is in any imminent danger of cancellation.
TV Grim Reaper has Supergirl listed as certain to be renewed by May 2017

I don't think Supergirl is in trouble.
But ratings are more than bragging rights to the networks.

That wasn't a bad drop. I wonder if Supergirl had any competition last night other than Gotham.

CW said that Supergirl may be either #1 or #2 show.

No other show on the CW goes against the the juggernauts that SG goes against....so I'm not surprised. And it's not DWTS that is the main competition. It is "The Voice".

It isn't that great. But now the question is just if the ratings will stay steady around 2.6 or if they will lower.

I am surprised that adding Superman didn't add more eye balls.

I was surprised too. Considering all the media praise Tyler Hoechlin is getting I would have thought more people would have stayed for the second part.
I wonder why they decided to tune out.

I support the show but personally I still think that it's only an okay show. Much of the dialogue is still cringe worthy and I still maintain that the show is light and fluffy to the point where there isn't enough drama.

Many reasons, Monday Night Football, The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, etc. Still far above the average for the CW and FAR AND AWAY better than the average for Monday nights last year.

But all those elements were present the first week.

Different teams playing, all kinds of things...ALSO, Superman being in both episodes was very evident to us on the internet. To many casual viewers it was not....they tuned in because it was the premiere like all other premieres....and like all other series, there was a slight drop going into the 2nd episode.

You can drive yourself nuts trying to figure out ratings. IMHO, no need to try....if you don't have a Nielsen box attached to your TV there is not a thing you can do about the ratings, except watch it via the app, and buy it on iTunes and Amazon, the studios look at those things as well. Other than that, just enjoy the show. :cwink:

I am more down on it then you are but i feel like we share the same issues. Dialog like "team Krypton is having hashtag to much fun." or the whole Snapper Carr & Kara fight about her job and then a heart to heart with Cat Grant  I hope the next batch of DC shows can be on a streaming service where they don't need to adhere to network tv rules.

Hypothetical kickass ratings could have been evidence in favor of a Supes spinoff or “mini series.” Just respectable ratings - not so much. :O

Maybe....but as Kreisberg has said, that is not their focus.

And yet, I loved all of that, it is the writing of James that is a major problem of mine...so, in the end, it is about opinion. :cwink:

IMO, Hoechlin's Superman works best as a a special/rare/occasional guest star. I.e., his "scarcity" increases his "value" (as the economists say :cwink:). OTOH, overexposure (as would happen in a solo series) would devalue him.

I don't know that it would devalue him, but I really don't want more than a couple, MAYBE 3 more episodes with him in it.....BIG EPISODES, of course.... :cwink:
