Riverdale All About The Ratings!

Also, the show is on Netflix tpp as a 'Netflix Original' so I wonder if it gets cancelled on CW, could it be continued on Netflix?

Not sure of the legalities of it all....it's possible if it is doing well on Netflix.

It is listed that way because it isn't available anywhere else in your region. A lot of British stuff is listed that way in US Netflix.

Last night's ratings...
Premiere was 0.5/2 1.38
Up a tenth from last weeks 0.4/2 1.14
0.5/2 1.20

So far pretty steady.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Nice to see Riverdale adjust up from a 0.4 to a 0.5 for this week's episode in the finals. A good chance at renewal now, but bad news for Frequency and No Tomorrow.

Frequency and No Tomorrow were already dead long before Riverdale premiered.

Probably, but with the CW ya never know....Riverdale certainly put the final nail in the coffin.

No fall freshman show on network TV that didn't receive a back order has EVER been renewed except shows that were designed to be limited episode-count series in the first place. Even if Riverdale bombed even harder, Frequency and No Tomorrow were already dead.

It appears Riverdale hasn't found its floor yet. 0.3 last night.

That's not good. If it starts putting up 0.2s it's probably going to be axed regardless of Berlanti's pull or WB's development deal with Archie Comics.

Ouch, and with daylight savings time coming....it doesn't have any room to drop.

Hard to say right now Izombie Season 3 still hasn't debut yet and Vampire Diaries and Reign are both ending this season. Plus Riverdale is actually doing better than the 100 last time I checked I could be wrong. Also there's no teling what will happen with the Orginals with the Vampire Diaries Ending and CW planning the Lost boys series in a few years.

At this point Riverdale better hope it does good on Netflix.

Just get it on Netflix permanently if this season is a one-and-done for CW.

iZombie has nothing to do with this conversation. It will get a fourth season no matter what.

As for the 100, its last episode beat Riverdale's. And it's never good for a freshman show to get beaten by a show in its fourth season. If the ratings are close The 100 will get renewed over a freshman show due to syndication, international sales, streaming, DVD/Blu-Ray/digital sales, etc.

Renewals favor high episode counts, at least until the actors' initial contracts run out and make the show much more expensive.

Riverdale was up a tenth this week at 0.4/1.08.
So, some good news.

There has to be some faith in Riverdale. It got a rerun spot after Flash and they are sending Luke Perry to the talk shows. I think either Originals, 100 or Izombie is probably gone too,

I think we're getting a Season Two according to the showrunner.

Riverdale - Renewed for a 2nd Season

Six weeks into its freshman run, midseason CW drama series Riverdale has received an early Season 2 renewal for 2017-18.

While Riverdale‘s Live+Same Day ratings have been just OK (average of 1.16 million viewers, 0.4 in adults 18-49 on Thursday night), the Archie Comics drama has excelled in delayed and digital viewing, particularly in the young demos. It has been growing 78% in adults 18-34 and 85% in women 18-34 in Live+7 day ratings over L+SD and quickly becoming one of The CW’s most streamed shows on the network’s digital platforms, alongside mainstays like The Flash, The Vampire Diaries and Jane the Virgin.

Return held steady at .4, number of viewers was a bit lower, however.
Not unusual after a return from a break.

.3 this week and below the million mark on viewers. It can't handle any more of those kind of numbers....it will, I'm sure, get an abbreviated season again next season. :(

Do any of the CW shows that are not the DC shows get a full season anymore?
