I think Mantis Rapture was refering to how that particular park looks creepy due to, for example, the demonic looking head, and how it would make a good location for a confrontation if indeed there is one at an amusement park.

Look, filming in Hong Kong because the city's rural urban areas looking exactly like the narrows I can understand or shooting downtown Gotham in Chicago and London because of the architecture of the buildings. This? Not so much......You can build a creepy looking amusment park from scratch.

I agree with you, there is no reason to go to Japan just to film an amusement park, it would be so much easier and cheeper to just build one in a soundstage or film at one in America. I was just trying to give a reason for why he mentioned that particular amusement park.

That may not be the issue. The issue may be cost. Its probably a lot cheaper to simply film at a real location than to build a set as large as an amusement park and CG various things in post production. Assuming of course that they are going to HK solely for the amusement park, a point that has not been definitely established.

You haven't missed anything - someone was just making wild speculation. Especially considering we saw some amusement park type props taken into the hanger in the UK - it again seems unlikely if there is an amusement park it would have been in HK since almost none of the primaries even went to HK.
