When I said a while back on how some of us might not last on these boards until bvs came out, I didn't think some of us being banned for posting public images would be one of the causes.

it may be less a legal thing than a relationship with the studios they feel like they should protect. if they bend over every time the studio wants then they may throw them an "exclusive" bone once in a while. or maybe get asked to go on set visits etc?

So...if someone *legally* takes a picture of a film shooting on a public street...those legally taken pics can't be posted on hype? Stoopid! If John-An or anyone else starts a FB page, please let me know. Honestly I think it'd be cool to be on FB together and see what everyone looks like...smile

Yeah, what is all this? I've seen this being mentioned in "Gal Gadot" thread.

Is this some new rule now? Are we not allowed to post pictures that we usually did in the past? And what about gifs and avatars?

Honestly guys a Facebook group (I emphasize group so not any Joe Shmoe can see what we post) would be a solid idea. Not only would sharing pics not be an issue, but it would also feel more like a community on an actual social media site.

If the pic, video, gif, avatar has pics and video in it that has not been officially released by a studio has the possibility of being seen and a takedown notice given. You get three you are banned for good from this site. The mods and admin on this site do not/and have nothing to do with giving the takedown notices, those come from a 3rd party.

That really sucks. Set pics, paparazzi pics and candids are what brought me to the hype. Some threads will now look very naked without them. I can live with this though. If set pics, paparazzi pics and candids are what brought me to the hype, it's the members that have made me stay.

I see... thank you for the info.

It complicates things quite a bit and sadly means that "set photos" threads (which were one of the main reasons for me joining this place) are no more. It's also quite idiotic, especially when one starts thinking about freedom that internet is supposed to have on matters such as this. But I realize that you guys (mods and admins) are not the ones I should complain and argue with on this matter, so I'll just shut up with occasional grumbling here and there.
