It's a good option but I doubt I'll go even though I'd like to.

Two that's one of the reasons I probably won't go.

Just thought the box offfice for Man of Steel will get a little boost lol

I'd love to see Man of Steel on the big screen again.

I read possible spoilers on moviepilot. I liked possible spoilers on moviepilot. I wish I hadn't read possible spoilers on moviepilot.

I'd read them but I can't find them

Ahem... Just saying, the classification of who is or is not "white" (or "black" for that matter) is a pretty wacky and fluid thing based little on such objective standards as anything coming close to science, or for that matter even visual cues we think we see.

Let's also remember... There was a time Italians and the Irish, and for that matter Poles and Czechs weren't considered "white". This is a social thing more than a scientific one. I think trying to sound as though there is hard science backing anyone's contentions about this idea is a wee bit foolish.

I would too but it's an extra £15 and I truly don't think I could sit in the cinema for 6 hours +

'Batman v Superman' Set to Be Auctioned for Bat Conservation Charity

Gotham can be yours (kind of).

Pieces of the set from the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are to be auctioned off as part of a new charity campaign benefiting — fittingly — a non-profit organization dedicated to bat conservation.

The Organization for Bat Conservation launched an online auction of 110 bat houses built out of pieces of the Batman v Superman set by the movie's cast and crew Monday, with 23 of the houses signed by BvS director Zack Snyder, star Ben Affleck, or both.

"Zack contacted us after hearing about the devastation that is happening to bat populations across North America and wanted to do something," Rob Mies, executive director for the Organization for Bat Conservation, said in a statement. "[The cast and crew] took time out of their busy schedules to bring real attention to an animal that is in desperate need of support. With their help, we are able to reach millions of people about the need for bat conservation."

The cast of the movie, along with Snyder, had previously released a video raising awareness for the Organization's mission.)

Sales of the houses will benefit the Save the Bats Campaign, launched in 2014 in response to a drop in the North American bat population as a result of white-nose syndrome, a fungus that easily spreads between hibernating bats that is believed to be responsible for the deaths of millions of bats in both the U.S. and Canada since 2007.

The auction will remain open until April 4. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be in theaters March 25.

Yeah, it's a bit silly.

Even a term like "Anglo-Saxon" is something of a misnomer nowadays. Recent advances in science show that, while the Angles, Saxons and Jutes certainly left their mark on the region that is now England (Angle-land), there is actually only a small percentage of their DNA in the makeup of the British population. The genetic and linguistic evidence is that the Brits and Irish largely owe their ancestry to four main sources: Celtic, Germanic, Roman and Iberian. All that nonsense about Anglo-Saxons vs Celts is essentially outdated rubbish.

And when you take into account that we Americans owe our roots to even more diverse origins, it's surprising that a term like Anglo-Saxon is still in popular usage.

Well it's Tuesday today, hopefully those rumors of the press screenings are indeed real and happening today.

Yep.

People like to hold on to some old fashioned stereotype of identity that has long been proven to be false.

There are people who will literally punch you in the face if you tell them their preconceived notion of ethnic identity is false. I've met Irish people who think they are genetically separate from English people despite the fact they aren't.

There is no such thing as pure blooded Italians, French, Germans, ect either. Unless your the most inbred person who ever lived then somewhere along your ancestry someone originated from a place different to others in that blood line.

Indeed.

And while Krypton has a point that this kind of ideology can be perceived as a social thing, the fact of the matter is that people have historically used racial eugenics and pseudo-science, i.e., what passed for actual science at the time, to propagate their own agendas. They would say something like, "Well, based on your appearance, it's clear that we descend from superior genetic strains, whereas you originate from the opposite", and those who didn't know any better would eat it up.

The English erroneously considered themselves wholly Anglo-Saxon and somehow distinct from their "Celtic" Irish and Welsh neighbors, when the truth was anything of the kind.

It's more than just a social thing, it's flat-out ignorance; and there's really no excuse for that in this day and age.

I was referring to the the guy who cited '1/4 ancestries' from Wikipedia, even though the quote chain leads to you.

My response was to the idea that she's not white because her Israeli nationality makes her Middle Eastern.

As for whether she is white...while our understanding of racial makeup may be flawed, appearance-wise she fits under what would be considered white, and nothing in her own description of her own ancestry would suggest otherwise. She's Jewish, but that hasn't been an obstacle to getting work in Hollywood. WB might get more "points" for casting her than casting someone like Jaimie Alexander, but she isn't a model of diversity to show off, either.

None of that's to say that I care that she's white, though, or that I think she looks wrong for playing Wonder Woman.

That could even be considered a plus, as a lot of the movers and shakers in Hollywood are American Jews.

But anyway... I hear that Batman v Superman is coming out in less than a few weeks.
