This is really weird. If a massive film like Captain America 3: Civil War hasn't even started filming and it is coming out in May, why is BvS taking so long with post production when filming has been completed 2 months ago and still a year to go. This is unusual, only massive VFX films like Avatar take this long.

Do you guys think DC has a massive surprise for us?

Zack Snyder doesn't normally have 2nd units on his films. That's why they take so long to film and post-production.

I'd like to think so, but Batman and Superman together is already massive enough! :funny: What else can they surprise us with? :shr:

Yeah I know it will be released in March 2016, but in terms of content. May be there are crazy amount of VFX battle scenes?

Batman will be entirely CGI and voiced by Kevin Conroy. Batfleck's a red herring.

Yeah Post production only includes Editing, Scoring and VFX, and quite possible reshoots. Doesn't it? May be I'm wrong.

Yeah, a non-CGI batman will look odd when fighting Superman, Just my opinion. Even Superman from Man of Steel was CGI in many scenes, right guys?

I think most of us assumed this was going to be a massive spectacle (watch hafizbat and The Batman come running at the sound of one of their favorite words ;) ) with large amounts of SFX. Rumors of big set pieces were supposedly coming from those involved with the effects vendors. Plus... This is Snyder. He takes a very detail orientated approach to his films production wise.

The only reason they pushed the release to 2016 was due to Marvel. I highly doubt they will be working on this movie any more than usual.

The reason it is taking so long is that the only prime release date after July was in March. There was literally no other date to launch the movie which would give it 6 weeks free of any competition.

September is empty, but September doesn't see huge grosses for movies, the OW record in September is 40M. November has Bond, MJ2, Peanuts and Good Dinosaur, December has Star Wars.

January, February and most of March are dead zones next year, just waiting for the next big movie to release and suck up all the air (similar to this year between 50 Shades and Furious 7, lot of smaller hits, but no breakouts on the horizon).

So basically, March has the track record with Alice and Hunger Games for big grosses, has Easter for a good Worldwide box office launch, and provides 6 weeks of competition free run.

^^Oh that makes more sense.

Although I would wish it is because of VFX. The more time they take, I believe, will make it more realistic and epic.

I think this movie also has more on location shoots than Man of Steel. Which probably added to the longer filming schedule.

Which is the majority of the movie making process. It takes a long time to film, and obviously if you don't film there's nothing to edit, but editing is where the film is made. At least that's my understanding.

This plus BvS was originally a summer 2015 film, specifically 17th July 2015 before pushed back to May 2016 and eventually brought forward to March 2016.
