Affleck is keeping himself busy for a multitude of reasons I'm sure. I'll I care about is that the man stays healthy and turns in a good product.

Affleck wrote, directed and starred in The Town (2010), and also in pre-production Live By Night (2016). He handled writing/directing in other films quite well.

However, these are all small production so a solo Batman production will be a big step up. I'm very sure that the involvement of Snyder and the BvS team played a big part in him taking on solo Batman.

Maybe I'm naive but I'm surprised Affleck wants to direct as well as star in such a huge film as Batman. He's going to be super duper busy.

He will also be the writer, director, star and producer of Live by Night. It was announced yesterday that the shooting will start in November.

And he reportedly will star in the David Fincher movie "Strangers" pretty soon.
Dam, Ben sure will be busy! But, I have no doubt he will pull it all off amazingly. I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe it was always his dream job. The trade guys on Twitter are saying that directing a solo Bat-film was in his 2013 contract.

That would certainly make a lot of sense.

I knew as soon as Affleck was casted he'd be directing the next Batman solo. That one of the main reasons I was behind Batfleck from the get go. This is awesome

I think it helps that some of the films that Affleck directed are crime thriller which would fit with Batman who is a crime fighter.
