Yeah, I just remembered that and edited my post before seeing your response.Batman did snap the Joker's neck in the Dark Knight Returns. It only paralyzed him from the neck down instead of killing him but the Joker committed suicide by turning his neck.
I'm hoping someone else is piloting the Batwing.
