I don't doubt how they are gonna do themed TV spots but they most definitely wouldn't be doing it for shows like Gotham or Supergirl.
I mean those tv spots can run during the superbowl instead of wasted like that

A SuperBowl TV spot costs million dollars so it would be a waste too.

An SB spot would have FAR more eyeballs watching it than the ones seeing SUPERGIRL or GOTHAM combined. It wouldn't be a waste just as Marvel putting an A1 spot for the game wasn't a waste. What would be a waste of money would be this idea about putting a spot on two shows whose audience is likely already aware of the movie and has a lot of people making it up that have been following it closely.

A SB spot is less than 3 months before the release and hooks in the wider audience, not just the already keyed in fan audience. On almost every level it's a better use of resources than putting something on those two shows at this time. If anything it helps those shows more than it helps the movie. If this happens I am guessing THAT is more the motivation, much like Marvel airing spots with AOS.

I will be hugely disappointed if we don't get a new Batman picture on Batman day.

Two seperate teasers than new full trailer with Spectre and that will be shown with Star Wars also. Then a Super Bowl spot and that should be good till March release besides the TV spots.

Prepare thyself for disappointment :oldrazz:

As for the trailers announcement, I call bs. And not solely on the basis of the source, it just sounds like bs and what would be a bad decision.

Eh, it ain't my money so i'm cool with WB spending on a SB spot. I still talk to folks who don't know there even is a BvS coming out. Let the mr. and mrs. joe schmoe of the world know. Mo' money and mo' DC films for us. Lawd.

Exactly. WB'S haven't had a SB spot in quite sometime. Having one for the big game for this film should occur IMO. It's not like WB's doesn't have the money.

If it costs WB nothing, who cares? Fox could be showing that spot for free as stated in their deal with WB for having access to their DCU.

You talk about wider audience but I only see it favouring the US folks considering Canadians don't get the SB ads. Same with Europeans if I'm not mistaken. The international market is also important to these blockbusters when it comes to their BO. Of course a spot during SB would give a bigger gain than one during a TV series (over 100M watchers for the former vs a tenth for the latter...) But paying almost $5M for a 30-sec ad, might as well reach out for the maximum number possible of watchers. Also, the ads usually show up on YouTube not long after airing and with social networks, words get passed around quite quickly that I feel it is indeed wasted money.

Anyway, this has been discussed many times already and will be again next January/February. Until then I don't see any problem with Warner wanting to show spots on their cape shows, especially if it costs them peanuts, and if they finally decide to spend big cash on the SB spot, then it's win/win for both audiences.

I think those hoping for a Superbowl spot are in for disappointment. WB sits the Superbowl out all the time. Don't see why they'd be compelled to change now. Especially not for a film that's already guaranteed to make them a large sum of money.

I don't know why anybody would be worried for the marketing for this film.

WB does great marketing. Marketing for man of steel and TDKR was great. And this film is more important than both of those.

No way WB isn't going ham on this

The same Lady who did the marketing for American Sniper is doing BvS.

We are good, fam.

Kryptonite writing is pretty inconsistent.
There are times Superman can beat Kryptonite holder in a fist fight.
Superman temporarily lost his strength during a fight against armored Lex Luthor, he still won the fight.
And Tony is taught how to fight by Steve, and a bunch of other fighters, he's pretty badass in hand to hand.

Just saying superman minus sun is stupid. Of course if there was no sun he'd be powerless. But there IS sun. Can't get rid of random factors to make one looks better/worse.

There will be NFC/AFC title games, surely. Let's not forget the World Series coming up... Superbowl spot.. it is possible given the whole VS attitude. two of the biggest icons with the biggest sporting event.... yea, I'd put money on it.

Not to mention if there was no sun, we'd all be dead. SO one could argue a sunless superman beats anyone because... they are dead.
