I want Darkseid, even though Marvel's doing Thanos. Honestly, I think if Ironside voiced him and he had a better character design, I think he could top Thanos.

And I think Snyder delivers the best superhero action.

Tbh, I don't think it'll take much to beat that, if GOTG was anything to go by.

Darkseid is a better character, so hopefully he is able to surpass Thanos in live action.

The big reason I'm hoping the Hal rumors aren't true is because I honestly would prefer Jon Stewart be Green Lantern for DCEU.:gngl:

Those are fighting words

But anyways I'm sure we'll see John in GLC, but I think we're going to see Hal as the Green Lantern that teams up with the Justice League. Kinda like War Machine for Iron Man.

Yeah, please watch the SW spoilers, that's two seemingly pretty major things I've seen posted on the BvS boards.

I hope in the DCEU, Superman's speed is a lot more limited than it is in the comics, like he can break the sound barrier, but I don't want him able to circle the globe in a millisecond. I'd like for The Flash to be substantially faster than Superman. I remember seeing in the comics, Superman racing Flash, I believe Flash won, but I'd like it to not even be a question who is faster. If Superman is that fast, it takes away from the significance of Flash's power, and opens up too many cases of "Well why didn't he use his super speed and do such and such within a fraction of a second?"

I'm wondering if Hal is already a seasoned Green Lantern during the time these first couple movies take place, he's just been traveling to some other section of the galaxy and hasn't revealed himself yet to the people of Earth (maybe he returns to Earth due to the Kryptonian invasion, or because somebody like Darkseid has turned his attention towards the Earth). Then maybe he dies at some point and passes the torch to John Stewart. Or, kinda like Spider Man, they'll take another stab at the origin story.

I thought, if they were planning an origin story, it was kind of a missed opportunity to not have him as one of the Air Force guys in MoS doing something heroic, putting other's lives above his own, but I guess they hadn't fleshed out their ideas for the character yet and were nowhere near ready to cast him. Although, I guess the option is still there, that maybe he was involved with that event somehow, they just didn't show him, but we'll get more of that in a Black Zero flashback similar to Bruce Wayne's flashback. I like the idea of that event being the spark that opens up the floodgates for other intergalactic heroes and villains to turn their attentions toward the Earth, and it could really make the movies feel connected.

I was just about to say something similar. Maybe Darkseid shows up with Hal's crumpled body and throws it at the trinity's feet. And that's when they all band together in that final trailer scene, sizing him up.

I think the Kryptonian history of them trying to colonise the galaxy and terraforming planets will have no doubt brought them to the attention of the Guardians and the Corps. With Superman turning the scout ship on, the beacon that brought Zod to Earth will have no doubt alerted the Corps too, thus giving them a reason to send a the Lantern of 2814 to Earth to check it out... Abin Sur! He could turn up at the end of JL only to be killed and his ring seeks out Hal to be his successor... origin done!
Also, the terraforming would have probably ****** off other species too, so it is a good plot point to establish other worlds such as Thanagar.

Any reason why? He was great in JL TAS, but beyond that, Hal is the best GL

Everyone's JL knowledge seems mostly held to animated shows :hehe:

I was never that into GL comic wise so JL TAS is pretty much my defining image of him. It actually made me enjoy the character and look into his backstory more.

That's the case with everyone that prefers John over Hal.

I'd recommend watching Green Lantern: First Flight immediately, it's awesome :) ! Then Justice League: New Frontier. The GL movie was ****!

Then I'd recommend reading Geoff Johns Green Lantern run. It's one of the best runs in comics period imo

In everything other than JL TAS, Hal is the best GL by a lot, followed by Kyle Rayner

In the comics, John doesn't have any great definitive stories or villains, he works best as an ensemble character while Hal can actually lead the series

Daxam.

I am glad they are doing GLC.

Multiple Lanterns is the best way to go - Hal, John, Guy, Kyle and Baz (heck, maybe even Jade and Cruz).

(Yes, I do realize that Cruz is technically not a GL. Neither is Jade for that matter, IIRC).

Oh, let's not forget the other lanterns from other worlds.

Start with Sinestro Corps War, leading to War of Light.

^ I personally think BB is a better standalone movie than TFA.
Heck, I think it's a better movie in general, but I'm a Batman fan, so what would I know?

I thought the ending scene in SW was epic.

Never said it was bad. Just wasn't as epic as Batman Begins. Because to me at least it came out of nowhere. We were waiting for that TFA scene for the entire movie. It was alright, but wasn't the best directed scene imo.

We can move back to just BvS talk though. Didn't mean to derail.

If I was given a choice between Hal and John, I'd much prefer John's disciplined military persona than Hal's flagrant flyboy persona. I loved JL animated's combination of team members, especially the bromance between John and Wally, balancing the stoic with humor. It makes more sense that Wally's the less responsible one since he's younger. I guess a Hal and Barry bromance could also work, Barry bringing the stoic side and Hal the humor, but I'd really love to see it the other way around on the big screen.
