It's looking pretty good so far. It's supposed to be, what looks like to me, a Mass Effect-esque game. An RPG-Action, third person shooter game in a Modern Day Espionage setting. It's being developed by Obsidian, who worked on Star Wars: K.O.T.O.R. II.
You play as Michael Thorne, an agent who is forced to go rouge after a mission goes bad and he's cut off from his government contacts and ends ups being hunted down by the U.S. Government, "In response, Michael uses the eponymous "Alpha Protocol", though it is normally reserved for more senior agents, and begins to operate undercover. to uncover the conspiracy."
One of my favorite aspects that they're promising is the structure of the game, and how you can form your Michael to be.
The interview I read, with one of the producers, was going by the theory of the "Three JB's".
You can choose to operate and ultimately become one of the three JB's, if you'd like. JB's being, three of the more popular current day spy heroes we all know. James Bond, Jason Bourne, and Jack Bauer. You'll be able to be be suave, and be more gadget oriented. You can be an expert with hand-to-hand combat and get things done coldly effeciently.
Or you can be an expert with guns, and torture people to get the information you need.
It's set for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
