The Avengers Amanda Righetti is Sharon Carter

She has a better face but Atwell body is from a goddess.

QFT.

Remember to all. She is not called "agent 13" at the end of Cap from what I remember. She calls out a "code 13" to all agents. It still may be a nugget alluding to who she is, but its not as definitive as if she were actually called that.

Amanda is hot and all but I would just tell them to put me back on the ice if I found out I couldn't fondue with Peggy after being SOOO close. :woot:

She looks good and natural as a blond.

We'll have to agree on disagreeing on that one. Atwell's face seems consistently pretty, with and without make up. Righetti's doesn't.

Oh, you've seen Hayley in the morning with no makeup on? That's pretty cool!

Marvel is pretty good at keeping things quiet. Remember that we didnt even know Derek Luke was cast in Captain America until around when the teaser poster came out. And his role was just as big as Neal McDonough's who was announced

Derek Luke actually was rumored a while before he was confirmed.

I'm a tad worried about Amanda Righetti. I fell in love with Hayley Atwell in Cap; she was just so perfect. I don't know if Righetti can match that.

She looks similar enough around the eyes and nose to pass as a relative of Atwell's, IMO. I enjoyed Atwell's performance as Peggy, but Sharon Carter is her own person, and I think she should be played by someone different. Plus I think having Sharon look exactly like her relative Peggy, and having Steve interested in her because of that, would come off as kind of creepy in the movies.

One film that did the second-generational sameness pretty well was Bicentennial Man; it explained the awkwardness and approached the second relationship in a different way than the first.

It can be done, it's just a matter of how well it's treated and if there's a valid reason to do it. Would it supplant a different storyline( Cap tempted by the Cosmic Cube to "right the wrongs") or would it prevent that relationship from going further, making it strictly a professional one; valid arguments either way just have to pick one and do it well.

Please don't mention this &$#§&#&%$# movie again. :cmad:
As a kid I loved the short story (was a big Asimov fan, when I was 8) and I still think it's one of the best stories Asimov has ever written.
Then Hollywood came and made a comedy out of it. With Mrs. Doubtfire in the titular role...

back on topic. I haven't seen Righetti in any role. Just the few seconds she appeared in Captain America, but from her performance in that movie I doubt she can handle a character like Carter.

LOL, well I never said it was a great adaptation!

So far, it's just been rumors.

That What I thought, In the film she says "Code 13" when Steve escapes the S.H.E.I.L.D. headquarters . Not that she is Agent 13 .

Agent 13 is Sharon's code name in the comics

If code 13 was Steve figuring out that its a fake set up, I wonder what code 1-12 were.. haha

She's attractive, no doubt but she looks like the typical Hollywood/CW babe that's shoved in our faces from Maxim magazine to MTV...Atwell seems to have a timeless type beauty, along the lines of Kate Winslet; probably why she was cast to begin with.

I haven't seen Righetti in anything either, so i'm not knocking her ability to do the part of Sharon justice, i just think that Atwell's shoes are a bit too big for Amanda to fill....

Atwell just has big boobs and a very pretty face.

Amanda Righetti has quite big boobs as well.

I don't think she's quite up to par with the acting though compared to Hayley Atwell. She's more of a lightweight to be honest.

Not really.
Peggy Carter's niece would be in her 60s, or 50s at youngest.

Sharon will be a relative, of course, but sure as hell won't be Peggy's niece as the comics had it.

And I hope Righetti gets the blond hair. SHIELD doesn't need another redhead.

Natasha = red, Maria = brunette, Sharon = blonde.
Yep, that's all you need right there.
Plus Abigail Brand = green. Yep.

If Peggy has a baby brother born in 1950 or so, then why can't it be her niece? The math works.

Niece or Grand-Niece does it really matter? As long as she was raised on stories of Cap and admired Peggy.

Like Marvel said, Peggy Carter must have had a younger brother.

Amanda's far from being top heavy; in fact she just crosses the flat chested line....

....wha....??? :wow::huh:

Look, doing the math, Peggy would have been born in the 1920s, like most of what is called "The Greatest Generation." How many families (besides Strom Thurmond) do you know that would have a 30-year gap between siblings, barring some bizarre AARP adoption kick?

Quite simply, there are at least three generations removed from the younger generations (teens and 20s) that fought WWII. The grandchildren of WWII vets are in their 40s (I know --- I'm one of them, and I'm 45), so Amanda Righetti would have to be a generation removed even farther than *mine.*

So....great-grandniece at best.

But yeah, as long as they keep the bloodline there, I don't care....she can be a great-grandniece or great-granddaughter, and that would explain why Sharon would only faintly resemble Peggy.

Okay, I know I shouldn't react to blatant BS but that's to much. I'm a grandchild of a WWII vet too, as are most of my friends and aquaintances. Guess what? We're all around 30; a handful is younger. Our parents were born in the 50ies, when all of the negative economic aspects of the WW were over and it was (economic) safe again to get children. Not everyone has to be a victim of teenage pregnancy.

Just to lend further credence to the above, my Grandfather fought in WW2 and i'm only 25.

Well that movie in which she appeared topless hardly gives the impression that there are only nipples just starting to bud. They're definitely round and tangible.

Before we start actually comparing the actresses, let's try and find out if Amanda is even Sharon to begin with.lol

Though on a interesting note, I went over to the CA forums, and someone posted a link involving a interview with Feige and Johnston, and it was revealed that Peggy in the MCU is apparently still alive (88 years old).

Some have suggested that regarding Steve's role/arc in the Avengers, it could potentially end with Sharon (assuming if she's in the film and played by Amanda) reuniting the two at the end and them having their dance.

Be that as it may, Idk, I mean...for those who are leaning towards the idea of Atwell playing Sharon as well; I mean, wouldn't that put a even more weirder vibe to what will already be a interesting pairing between Steve and Sharon? I mean it's not often you see a hero falling in love/starting a relationship with the niece of a woman that had been involved with in the past.lol.

What? So she was 18 when she was that high of a ranking officer? I know these things should be overlooked when were talking about movies but that just kind of bothers me.

Having her still be alive kind of takes away a bit of the poignancy of the ending of Cap. Yea he still missed out on having a life with her but he'll still be able to see her again. I rather she had passed on and have Sharon bring Steve to the grave of Peggy at the end of Avengers instead.
