Remember those Sacajawea dollars? I actually saw one in rotation at Walgreens the other day. A woman tried to pay with one and the cashier kept looking at it and then called her manager over to ask if they could accept them.

The vending machines at my school duke out gold dollar coins in change (as opposed to several dollars worth of quarters). Sometimes it's a random president, and sometimes it's a Sacajawea.

I love paying with those. They confuse the hell out of cashiers. Even if the cashier knows what the gold dollar is, they tend to stare at their change drawer in confusion, searching for a slot to put the coin in.

Obama on the one? Really? These are all hideous. Just keep the current design. Its not too bad.

Policies aside, first black president is a good reason. That's just my opinion on the matter anyways

1: Looks like Monopoly Money.

2-4: Look like checks, not bills.

5: One of my favorites, especially with Ben Franklin giving you a criticizing stare for what you're about to use that $100 for.

7: Probably my favorite. Organized and much different from our current bill.

8: Boring.

9: Horrific photoshop job that's too much like our current bill. Probably the worst design.

10: Uh....What's it supposed to represent, exactly?

11: Not bad, but needs some tweaking on the shading.

12: Way too much going on. Needs to be cleaned up, especially the backgrounds.

14: Another of my favorites, though it could use some more color.

15: Very well done, but needs some better organization.

the ones i DO like...

don't necessarily like the mountain in the circle or the roads in the background but i like the LOOK of this one, particularly the colors. i also like the simplicity of it.

this is my least favorite of my top 3, but it's a solid design. the background is way too loud and distracting and i'd prefer the pictures to follow the text, as opposed to being sideways...but i would accept this style of currency.

my favorite by far. modern, yet classic. not too complicated, not too simple. my only problem is that the colors are a bit dull and Washington's head partially covers the "1" on the top right but with some tweaking i would LOVE to see our dollars look like this.




with that, if they're going to redesign the dollars i'd also like to see them redesign the coins. here are some cool ones (some of these suck too, hehe)...

While I don't really care for the designs, I kind of like the concept of different size bills. It would make life a little easier on the blind. I mean, we have different size coins.

Probably my favorite design. I'd just replace the image in the circle with the image of the person on that denomination.
