Comics Amazing Spider-Man #575

Just picked this up. My first Amazing Spider-Man issue in a LONG time. Loved it . Can't wait to get #576. I'm going to have to go back and pick up the New Ways to Die issues.

to quote hammerhead in this issue
"Like I said... It's a BRAND NEW DAY, webs. Either you embrace it, or, well.... you don't."

Think thats directed towards everyone here and everywhere else.
Did this really happen?

I swear, every time I start to think "Okay, maybe I should get back to checking it out", they do the same BS that reminds me why I stopped reading.

Check it out...

It's a fantastic issue... really shows Hammerhead in such a badass way like we've never seen him before.

It's only going to get better.

:yay:

Hello, Mike!

Look who started posting!

Fabulous... now you can see that I'm a big ass on other boards as well... :woot: :woot: :woot:

Welcome aboard Eric...

I usually just hang out here and in the Comics Forums, as well as Community (not so much this past year) and the Sports Forum.

I'll send you an invite to the Hype Secret Society... (you might not be elligible to join until your post count goes up... )

Hugs'n Kisses,

Mike

like that is actually a legit reason not to read?

Writers taking a dig at the fans, wow, that hasn't ever happened in any media.

Who cares, its a friendly dig at fans who are opposed to the BND, like fans haven't been so openly worded about there opinons or thoughts. Writers should have the same free medium as well i think.

I really didn't enjoy the issue as much, coming off what was an amazing arc in "NWTD", it was a bit letdown, but i just never been a Hammerhead fan myself, but making him more of a badass and ruthless villian does make me a bit more interested in his character.

Yeah, the way he smashed Spidey's jaw was very... :wow: :wow: :wow:

read it. there are NO OMD refrences. Kelly does it right, and in the first time in a long time i found something spidey says as funny instead of "annoying".

all of the characters have personality and heart.

I promise you if he were the sole writer for the book I'd have never dropped it in the first place. its great.

I gotta say overall this was an enjoyable 2-parter. Bachalo's art made my eyes hurt at times but it wasnt too bad and some panels looked really nice. I love how he draws spiderman but absolutely hate how he draws Peter Parker, but thats just me. Kelly gives spidey a kind of humor i've never seen before, i'm not sure if i like it, but i will admit i laughed out loud at the "Devil/angel on the shoulder" gag. Overall solid story, nothing special but fun.

Wow... not being a fan of Bachalo's art, this issue looked awesome and was a great read.

I dread Hammerhead's next appearance as I'm sure he'll be looking for blood after Spidey's brief (but really painful) beatdown...

:yay:

Has anyone here picked #576? Compared to #575, how good is it?

It's as good... maybe a bit better.

I think so. Why? Because I want to read characters who talk and act like the characters I love, rather than the person writing them. In any medium, when I clearly sense a writers motivation, rather than a characetrs, it's a huge put off.

Family Guy is a good example of this. Often one of the characters will do something stupid only to make a Geroge Bush joke. I'm not a Bush fan in the least, but because it sounds like preachy writer driven words, it's puts me off, and it creates a focus on other things rather than the story.

I want to read about things that are happening, rather than a dig at someone who can't speack back (me.).

Kelly? As in Joe Kelly? That's a mind changer right there. I ain't gonna pick up this one though....maybe the next.

The next one is just a continuation of this story though. -_-

There kinda is, though. There's a blatant "Brand New Day" reference:

I personally have never minded any of the teases and references though. I think they're fun. :)

Yeah, but this isn't the way to go about it if you're trying to win back all the people you pissed off.

This little 2 part arc was ok. Felt like the art was all over the place though.

I just have one questions regarding ASM.

Where the hell is MJ? I mean, almost feels like they've completely written her out of the ASM.
