WAHOO. Wait so UP AT NOON is on Monday the 4th... E3 starts then too! WA DA FU?!

And June 4th is my birthday, too.

Such great presents this will all be.

I agree with Webhead, and take back my defending of the combat a few pages earlier. This Spidey may not be a seasoned fighter yet, but he could at least look up. And as said before, he looks weaker than me, with ALL those strikes and not a single KO. It is less flashy and superficial, but his attacks still look stupid, IMHO. Web rush and free roam have me very excited, but not the combat. Wasn't Peter supposed to be inspired by the "lucha-libre" fighting style? This looks more like Nacho libre, lol.

long story short, i'm unimpressed with the combat.

I guess the developers didn't want to show the KOs. I'd say to just wait until we have a demo with some full unedited fights.

This guy, Greg Miller, sits down with a developer and interviews him. While he's interviewing, another developer plays the game right there, and they just talk about it.

I think it's funny how people are upset that Spidey isn't knocking out bad guys in one punch. It's a video game. How easy are you really wanting this? Having a fighting game where it only takes one hit to KO the guys would be the worst game ever. That being said, the actual moves/animation is pretty meh. The city looks great at night, though.

would basically be like going around punching innocent people in Prototype 2

Well, remember that Spidey pulls his punches so he isn't using full strength when fighting regular thugs/humans. His objective is to subdue them. Plus, I don't think it would be very fun to just go around the game and one-hit dudes and that be the end of it. Not only would that not be fun it wouldn't be challenging either.

The combat itself was working correctly. What I mean is that it had a nice flow to it. The only real concern I wanted to make about it is that the animations when Spidey is throwing those punches/slaps looks lazy and droopy almost. I'm hoping this is older footage we're seeing and the animations will be improved upon. It's weird cause so far the animations of Spidey during swinging, web rush, stealth takedowns, all look amazing. During the combat, the roundhouse kick to the face and the jump with the webbing both looked really good actually.

They did this very same thing with Arkham City at last years E3.

I like games that are challenging, so I wouldn't want Spidey to knock out a guy in one punch. I like the USM game, but I didn't like that thugs got knocked out after only like, three punches.

meh, i guess. I'm still disappointed SO FAR, but i am holding my breath for their E3 presentation.

Tbh I am holding my breath as well. This game isn't out of the woods yet. I need to see full gameplay and tbh I review from Ign or someone. It could be a major flop and I would hate to waste my money on it.

I'm taking a "cautious optimism" about this game as well, but am I the only person that was impressed and/or delighted by what they saw in the gameplay snippets?

Could that possibly be the lizard helping Spider-Man at :44?

i think the robot appeared when spidey was fighting iguana and you have to fight both:yay:

It's Iguana, the giant robot (from what we know, we can infer this) is after Iguana because Oscorp and Smythe have produced tons of these robots to combat the biological threat attacking NY in the game (ie, all of the cross-species villains running rampant, this also includes Spider-Man, so they will attack him as well).

You aren't the only one. I've been impressed with just about everything we've seen. The only concern I've had thus far is the sloppy looking animations of Spidey's punches.

I think Assassins Creed 3 will be this years winner. Either that or Black ops II

You guys think it has a shot at best action/adventure game?
