Oh. I've been away from the computer for about a month. Looks awesome anyways.

dammit. nothing cool ever happens in Chicago except C2E2..

In the beginning, my expectations were through the roof! This seemed like we were finally going to get the definitive Spider-Man game we've all been waiting for. Sadly though, with some of the recent videos, this doesn't seem like it's going to deliver the experience I was hoping for.

Sure Beenox is definitely going in the right direction! However, this isn't going to be the "Arkham" Spider-Man game we've been waiting for. Which is kind of disappointing. I'm still waiting for a top quality Spider-Man title. One that gets straight A's across the board. It's possible that Beenox could still deliver something to that extent...but I'm doubting it.

And maybe that's for the best! Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised when the game releases in nearly three weeks. Only time will tell. Unfortunately though, the unedited gameplay clips aren't looking as stellar as the cut up trailers. The animations are really subpar and the webswinging looks stiff and not as stellar as I was imagining from the trailers.

And it's funny how many reviewers were reporting never seeing an animation reused but in the uncut videos we see a ton of them. As many have said, they could be using an old version of the game. But that seems unlikely.

I guess we'll find out on the 26th. Regardless, I'm planning on buying this just because it's Spider-Man.

I really do hope that the Amazing Spider-man game surprises me by being...well...Amazing!

I know how you feel.
This game has so much potential. Being able to go back to your apartment was something I wanted since the ps1 game. :)
It was done in Spider-Man 2 the movie, but pretty poorly in my opinion.

I remember a time when we used to have to actually play a game before we decided how good/bad it was.

Oh, wait, that's now.

Personally, I've played bad Spidey games and still enjoyed them cause they're Spidey games. ASM already looks better than WOS, so that seals the deal for me.

Arcades revenge prov the first spidey game I played that I can remember, that or the sinister six one not sure which came first

According to the schedule on ign.com, TASM will hit the floor at 5pm on Wednesday June 6th.

That's how I feel as well. I like Spider-Man as a character pretty well, but I don't play the games for his comic lore. I play them because his powers are perfect for the kind of video game I really enjoy, which is open world with fun locomotion abilities. Spider-Man can jump high, stick to walls and ceilings, and swing on webs, which is just begging to be used in a video game. Combat is a necessary evil I wade through in almost every game I play. As long as this game is better than Web of Shadows, it will be worth the $60 to me.

According to the schedule on ign.com, TASM will hit the floor at 5pm on Wednesday June 6th.

I'm almost certain that schedule is for when TASM will be on the IGN stage demo, where Dee Brown or someone from Beenox will likely talk and answer questions about the game while someone else plays and they show live feed video from the game. Those usually last around 15-20 minutes. More than likely TASM will be on the show floor at a booth as soon as the show opens on Tuesday, but you'll have to wait until someone posts video from their booth to see much of it. Who knows, GameSpot or GameTrailers may do a stage demo show and have TASM on Tuesday or Thursday.

We should see the E3 trailer on Monday, and maybe they'll actually get one of those narrated gameplay videos out before next Wednesday, though I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

For example, Driver San Francisco had like 4 to 6 interviews on 2009 (GT, IGN, Gamespot...) when was first shown to the public. And that was an underdog game, very few young people knew the series before the announcement (The last Driver game came out 5 years before), but still it had a lot of journalism recognition.

What I'm saying is that in the E3 every game can shine, because at least one website gives you a chance. Giving the fact that TASM has been almost praised by a lot of magazines and webs, I think we'll see a LOT of coverage for the game. Probably the full floor demo, maybe a different demo for Dee Brown to comment, and a lot of official footage without interview or voiceover. Also, we don't have to forget that we have a new trailer next Monday.

At 6am Pacific / 9am Eastern on Monday morning, IGN is posting an exclusive preview of The Amazing Spider-Man game and an episode of Up at Noon that has the E3 Spider-Man trailer along with the interview with the producer since Dee Brown couldn't make it. I think the "exclusive preview" will be an article and not necessarily gameplay footage, since they said they'll embed the episode of Up at Noon in the preview.
