Doesn't make sense
Might be something to do with the animation and controls, they are not as smooth and fluid as Spider-Man 2

It wasn't smooth and the sound fx was terrible. It sounded like he had a boxing glove on.

Not as smooth as Spider-Man 2 I said, can be wha.. at times, but it's smoother than what I think you're saying
Eh, don't see a reason to make note of the attack sound effect and make a fuss about it

What is it about this game that it attracts fussing like hair sticks to chewed bubble gum? It's annoying to a high level, and creates more problems that are non-existent or exaggerated nitpicks just for the sake of fussing

The FX, when properly done like in SM2, can make the punches and kicks more impactful. We can feel stronger, we can feel that the hits are really doing a difference, we can feel that the attacks are really connecting and damaging the enemy. That's why I think it's also important and was one of my complaints about SM3.

This makes as much sense as....more complaints that game receives
You complained about almost everything in that game, the good, the worth noting as a disappointment jumping from SM2 to SM3, and what really is a problem

Yes, and that is what we call having a different opinion. We've discussed that before.
It's what gets this board going.

I still love how cool it is that in ASM you can use your web shots to web a guy to the wall. Seriously, how awesome is that? Love it. More of this stuff Beenox...yes, more of this. :woot:

Favorite level(s) in The Amazing Spider-Man? Mine are:
  • The Asylum
  • Oscorp's Bilogical Lab
  • Saving the DA
  • Underground city

Watched some of the footage for Stan Lee, not interested in having his game mode anymore, it's just free roam stuff with that young man slapped in it, I'd rather have the following costumes: Vigilante, Raimi's costume, & reversed Future Foundation (cause I have the regular)

It shames me to say this, but Web of Shadows did it before TASM
But at least TASM did it in a way to get the enemy out of the way defeated

Well, it's not like Web of Shadows didn't get anything right just because it isn't a good game.
I liked the Web-Strike and the wall fighting.

That character messed up the main characters big time
those two points you mentioned and sticking thugs to walls is nice

Yep. I love how it works as a finishing move rather than just a temporary immobilizer.

Takes me back to the PS1 games, this must be..not, it is the first game to do it since then

If you wanna get technical, the webbing enemies to the wall as a finishing move was something you could do in EoT. With the purchased upgrade, when your hypersense meter is full and an enemy is near a wall (had to be really close) you'd hold down the Circle button (on PS3 controller) and you'd do a 'special move' that combined the hypersense with shooting web shots and the enemy would be stuck to the wall. It's much easier to pull off in ASM along with a smoother animation and looks better.

Spider-man 3's combat just felt... muffled. If that makes sense.
I think it makes sense.
Combined with the crappy dodging and some strong enemies and Spidey felt really weak. It always felt like the bad guys hit me farther than I did them. And not Sandman or Venom, but the random street thugs

SD is one of the most forgettable video games
And man, no on the ASM visuals, colors are too bright it's annoying, only the forest stage was good looking
SD Wii is one of my favorite Spidey games. It was challenging and there was a lot of funny quips from Spidey.

Eh, what? Dodging is proper (unless you're standing in the middle of an array of bullets and not jumping), and enemies are far behind being strong. A hit from one of them moves Spidey 3 steps back, one hit from Spidey moves them a little back allowing performing combo, and charged attacks make them fly behind a little

Now Web of Shadows on the other hand, that one has strong enemies tossing one far behind, they literally throw Spider-Man in that thing more than 70 feet on game scale with a single hit, any single thug does that

Yeah the boss fights weren't bad. They were actually challenging. And why does Spidey have to go straight up when he hits someone? But that was in SM2 and really isn't a big complaint of mine. The game wasn't polished either. If you punch against a bridge, you can cross it. Anyway how 'bout that

A more up-beat version of SM2. Growing up I felt like it was MTV Spider-man the game. Definitely one of my favorites.

Eh, what?
Thugs always felt overpowered to me. I have no problem with bad guys being tough to beat, but the bad guys were strong and could easily gang up on you, while Spidey felt heavy and weak compared to them. I remember the mission with the girl gang (Arsenic Candy or something?) in the museum where I believe you had to protect the fossils from them. I hated that mission so much, simply because the bad guys were way too tough, and too fast. Maybe it's because I was a kid when I played it, but even today, combat doesn't feel fun

You talk about uppercut only, right?

That's like all video game stuff, needs getting used to, and Spider-Man doesn't feel heavy
Although I share your sentiment about hating that mission, please don't tell me Spider-Man 2 combat system is fun, cause Spider-Man 3 system did more improvements than not to that system
If thugs gang on you jump on one and do a muppet master or a bomb move, disperses the enemies

Arsenic Candy and their stupid hammers....
Not all have hammers, hit the hammer girls with web balls/impact webbing and they cannot dodge the attack

No actually Spider-man jumps when he hits someone. I loved how you could go into Grand Central Station. I thought that was a great feature.

Thugs weren't necessarily overpowered, it just wasn't fun to beat them up. SM3 did have great features such as the bomb missions, spider-sense, and it throws some curveball side missions at you, which is pretty cool. But why take away the Statue of Liberty?

Hang them from a light pole, a flag pole, more than one pole at once
Annihilator after multi-subdue

Statue of Liberty has no role in story missions, I suppose that's why
Spider-Man games from Treyarch have the stamp of allowing you to free roam in most areas you have a story mission in, Ellis island in SM2 is a station between Liberty and Manhattan
