My favorite combat move is the back breaker signature move

i honestly never had issue with combat animation

To be more exact, it's not the animations themselves but more the transition between them.

really? why is it i look out for the issues ppl have with the spidey games but i don't have any of them? first WoS now this lol.

Sounds like a great idea!

I thought so too. I wonder if Beenox had something like this in mind but it was one of the features they didn't have time to implement?

Even with all upgrades. Some times he just repeats the same animation consecutively before doing the next attack. In Batman it flows better because, after he punches with the right arm, for example, then he does with the left, then with the right one again. It feels natural.
Spidey, sometimes, gets stuck with the first right punch, then he does exactly the same punch animation again and sometimes a third and fourth times, with the body always moving the same way as before. It's like a glitch preventing him from evolving the beating.

Ahh, I see. Yes, I have seen this on occasion but it's not a constant thing. For the most part, he does vary the attacks but I often find myself moving quickly from one foe to the next without spending much time hitting the same enemy repeatedly, so maybe that's why I don't see things being repeated so often.

My favorite combat move is the back breaker signature move

Love that one. I also like the take down moves he does when an enemy is only needing one more hit left. The move in which he flips toward an enemy, sits on their shoulders, then jumps off back away from them while grabbing the back of their head and slamming it face first into the ground is just so epic.

My favorite finisher is the one where Spider-Man just sends a whole bunch of web blasts while moving his arms all over the place.

[blackout]Fox reigned, when did he return?[/blackout]
You done now going off-topic? Sure? Please yes

Should I upgrade the game score from B to B+? I think the B will stick for now

I have come to the conclusion now that I actually like Shattered Dimensions a little bit more than ASM. SD grew better for me than ASM did.

What ASM has over SD is the gameplay itself: the combat, the web rush mechanic etc.

HOWEVER, after playing some SD again lately I realised that there's a little bit more heart felt in that game. It feels like SD was a game that Beenox themselves actually wanted to make, while ASM is the game they wanted to please the fans with. I don't blame them at all, I've always loved them for their friendly relationship with their fans and their ability to listen to them. And ASM was a great effort given the relatively short amount of time and is in no means a bad game.

It's just that SD has that special charm and fun in it that I miss in ASM. The characters are alot more enjoyable here than in ASM. The banters between the Spider-Men and their villains are so much fun and I loved how they felt present all the time! That was non-existant in ASM because of the whole cross-species theme.

I love that SD almost feels like a Crash Bandicoot game. The boss battles are so great, they are thought out and extremely fun! For example, webbing Electro's hand to make him pull it and hit the dam is very clever. I enjoy things like that! Not to mention that the voice acting really elevates the boss fights. I love that SD doesn't take itself too seriously without being ridiculous. Sure, the story should've been alot better, but I'm talking about the interactions between the characters overall.

Also, the designs and graphic style are much more pleasant for the eyes than in ASM. It doesn't try to look too realistic but rather stylish, which I think I prefer now. In this aspect, ASM suffers for being a free roam game, even though the graphics are pretty good at times.

Another thing that ASM sacrifices for being a free roam game is the level design. Those are much better in SD I think and while the levels lacked some variety in SD, they did even more so in ASM.

I definitely see why many people would think I'm a bit stupid for thinking this. Spider-Man belongs in a free roam game and I'm not saying Beenox should go back to linear ones. But I definitely find myself playing SD more than ASM. SD is made simply for being fun. ASM is trying to be this serious, deep game but sacrifices the fun IMO.

What I hope for is the next game to be a mixture. Don't try to look realistic but go for a more stylishtic approach instead, that looks more smooth. I can definitely see a New York in the Amazing dimension graphics. I didn't before, but now I actually do. Could look absolutely beautiful. Don't make characters looks cartoonish and silly, but have that graphic style, make character look more stylish while still have them look menacing somehow.

Have the great voice actors from SD. Electro's was perfect. Steve Blum for Green Goblin could work really great as long as he doesn't overdo the high pitch voice. DeMaggio for a crime lord, etc. Mysterio's voice was great as well. Have CDB voice an adult Spider-Man.

Keep the free roam but give more attention to levels again.

Keep the free flow combat, of course.

Have the boss fights as thought out and fun as in SD.

Make the camera go back again. Yes, I was one of those who voiced for a closer camera prior to ASM but it didn't work as well as I thought. Have predetermined moments where it comes closer to Spidey exactly like in SD (with that same camera-angle, not the even closer one in ASM). Then have the camera further back while running and webswinging, and have the camera like in ASM in combat and while wallcrawling.

Have a super villain always feel present somehow. I want lots and lots of banter between them and Spidey.

Another thing I really want back are those beautiful cinematics by Blur. They were stunning to look at and would really push the level of experience a notch up.

Noir Spidey had more and cooler stealth takedown animations than Spidey in ASM. Pretty weird to me.

etc.

SD is one of the most forgettable video games
And man, no on the ASM visuals, colors are too bright it's annoying, only the forest stage was good looking

I was reading some of the old Ditko/Lee Spider-Man issues, and one of them is ASM 16, they took the line

I finally got around to playing the DS version of this game. Thought I'd post a review here. It's good, but too easy. It didn't take me long to beat the game. It took me two hours and seven minutes and I'm sure it would've taken me even less time to beat it, if I hadn't stopped to beat my score at a few levels, and look for stuff like Daily Bugle headlines along the way. I like that in the missions, you can get a high score. You get points for things like beating up bad guys, time, evasion, and combos, and you also get a ranking. So if anybody is thinking about getting this game, I'd say yes, if you're like me and love Spider-Man games, even ones that are too easy. If not and or you don't like games that are too easy, then I wouldn't recomend it. Also, this is kinda random, but Gwen in this game looks like her Ultimate Spider-Man counterpart.

Are there Oscorp secret lab levels?
Iguana mission with saving the DA?
.......

NVM, I confused this with the 3DS version
Is it shorter or about as long as Web of Shadows? The DS version of Web of Shadows is actually fun

Shorter, even though TASM DS has 17 missions and WOS DS mostly just has you going from one place to another. The boss fights in TASM are really easy. Even the final boss battle only took two minutes.

Boss fights are WAY too easy.

Also, would it have killed them to make a REAL cut scene? Even just once or twice? There were no beautiful/intricately designed cut scenes (Arkham City was full of them).

Movie games, has to be rushed, so I'll excuse it for that
Although Spider-Man 2 did manage to make some great cinematics for its time

I wouldn't say SD is forgettable. It had some really good moments here and there. To me, SD was simply fan service. It wasn't much in the way of a story but it had a few really awesome boss fights and for the most part the level design and art style rocked. I actually enjoyed the 'webs as weapons' combat style in its 'God of War-esque' actions, at first, but once we finally got some true Spidey acrobatic elements with the combat in ASM, I'm now mostly turned off by the SD combat. SD definitely has its issues, horrible camera work included, but I still own it and may play it again at some point. The voice acting is great.

Been playing SM3 again after a while of deciding not to touch it again, for some reason I really craved playing it once more, and after playing a slower easier to control Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man game I see I need to get used to the controls in SM3 again, I see I'm getting some trouble with controls when it comes to trick races, and trick races in SM3 are my favorite, although everything else is fine in handling

Only problem is, the fun sensation in SM3 is still there, even after deciding not to play TASM for a while, or any other Spidey game I can't hold myself from feeling the fun I'm used to in SM3; boss fights, wall sprinting, web swinging, the charged jump, best web yoyo so far, having some aerial combat but it's notably lesser than the ground combat, and not really needed, best counter system, etc.... sort of make me think I rushed in branding TASM as my new favorite Spider-Man game after first full playthrough

Will play TASM again now, hopefully it sticks as more fun than SM3, been looking for a new favorite Spider-Man game for years, don't want to lose what I found too soon, it was a real good sensation

STATUS UPDATE:
My current favorite is still my new favorite, the Amazing Spider-Man didn't trade places with the previous favorite, so I'm thankful for that
