web of shadows was relying way too much on the web strike move, otherwise it was fine.

But one thing I don't want to see is the "same attacks in same order" combat, that's the main thing I want from free flow, when attacking he uses the move that's efficient/necessary in the situation and position, same with the other types of combat moves. Then, use that concept with this kind of combat (from the 7:00 mark): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8ygv0SGjFA&feature=related

arena mode announced for EoT...

...wonder if they'll do something like this for AMZSM
That's cool

arena mode in a game that has crappy combat? Can't wait... :whatever:
Game has some real good combat moves, and some not so good

Agreed,Dee said on Twitter that combat got a complete redesign just like every other of Spidey's ability,so we should definately expect something different this time.
I hope the combat would be the best to date

It's a gigantic plus that they're using SM2:TVG as a blueprint/starting point to build on for this game.
One of the many things I hope they use again is the tutorial from Spider-Man 2, you start with the tutorial that is not a story mission (this time full motion & combat, not without combat training) and there would be the "Skip tutorial if played the game before?" token

It was worse seeing how much enemies would break the web and you need to jump over it

Once we get another glimpse of the new game we'll have plenty more to discuss. I actually prefer SM3 to SM2. Only the webslinging in my opinion is better in SM2.
I prefer SM3 as well, but SM2 did a few things more than swinging better than SM3, wall bounce is not an upgrade for one, tutorial & training is another, variety of free roam missions, being able to carry thugs while swinging, etc.
Free roam in SM2 is better imo in many ways, things I prefer in free roam in SM3:
1. Sub-plots
2. Map 3D design and distribution
3. No need for informants to tell you to save a guy right up a ahead or something so near
4. Going to the subways
5. No need to press another button to pull thugs
6. Pulling people while wall crawling and letting them fall to faint, you can even carry the large lizards there

I wonder if it'll also have the side missions that get harder with each one. Like the Mary Jane date missions, pizza deliveries, and the Daily Bugle assigments?
I hope they will be fun

Those MJ missions sucked. I hated those so much...in both SM2 and SM3. I'm all for side missions and I'm sure there will be some but I hope they are better quality.
I like MJ missions in SM3 for the catchy tune and how in the second mission I can take MJ for a swim, never played them in SM2

I learned to execute the move with those guys too, but it takes perfect timing
Kinda hard, and I never had the heart to master it, though I still play the game after all the heavy bashing I gave it

I like the idea of free flow however I also like being able to choose the combat moves that I would prefer to do in a situation. I enjoy stringing together my own Spidey combos...so with free flow, I hope I don't miss that too much.

I prefer SM3 as well

One thing that really ticked me off in SM3 is how many 'thug' type characters could avoid Spidey's attacks. I really don't understand how a human girl weilding a giant hammer can be faster than Spidey, even if she IS the boss of the gang. It's just stupid. Also, I understand that some guys were ninjas but they're still just humans...Spidey should be able to web them up no problem. I wish that Hypersense was available in SM3.

which game pulls off the feeling of being the superhero in question better?
SM2 - spider-man
arkham city - batman

this is isn't 'which is the better game' this is purely which game captures the essence of the character better.

After getting used to her, she can't dodge as much as she could first time I played against her, all hammer girls fall fast. Web ball frenzy with the symbiote is their deadliest foe
If you stick to a wall and web the girls they get pulled more than evade, and they can't pull you with your string
The ninjas (only gang from the comics, or at least inspired by them) can be webbed easy, the guys with swords can't evade the web hammer much
Another thing about the S-M2 game that I loved were the mysterio levels.
I love all those missions, best of the game sided by Shocker missions and Rhino fight

Haven't played Arkham City yet, so I can't really talk about it, SM2 caught the essence of Spidey pretty neatly

Saw the trailer again, hope the game is just what the trailer says about it
Hope the upcoming trailer would sell me more to the game

One useless observation to note; this one is the closest movie game to get the costume near exact replica of its movie counterpart

And with that said, hopefully they have some other skins you can use besides the main one. I'm sure Beenox will have plenty of cool costumes and I'll be sure to use some of those. :cwink:

Indeed

Btw, I'm currently playing Shattered Dimensions, haven't played that in quite a while. Now that I'm playing it after completing Edge of Time, I can say that Shattered Dimensions is waaayyyy better! The combat is way better, has way more options, has better free flow elements and so on.

But in both games I still hate the grab move... everything else in combat is pretty fluid, but when you grab someone he akwardly stops, and then if you attack it comes in delay

I wonder what other stuff from S-M2 will return?

I know this isn't in Spidey 2, but I hope the photography returns. Hopefully the movies shows that Peter has an interest in photography so that it can show up in the game.

They just need to make the photography like Dead Rising's, you get different amounts of XP for taking very pictures. For example, pictures of super villains will net you the most XP, while pictures of random civilians will get you next to nothing.

There won't be any other costumes guys. This is the movie game. The movie has one costume, why would they ever publicize anything but that costume?

Why not? Just because it's a movie game doesn't mean anything. X-Men Origins Wolverine had 3 comic inspired costumes you could unlock and that was a movie game.

I bet Beenox will add almost 30 different costumes to this game. There's no reason why they won't.

The biggest and most obvious reason is that Sony is control of basically everything that goes into the game. They are not going to show any signs that they are wavering on their choice of design. They're going to want people to get used to and enjoy this costume, not give them a chance to say, "Oh thank God I don't have to use this costume."

I'll bet my left testicle that there aren't any alternate costumes.

I agree with this. If Beenox has any say whatsoever, they will have a bunch of costumes in this game. If anything, they seem to really be fans of Spidey and want the experience to be as immersive as they can make it.
