The biggest and most obvious reason is that Sony is control of basically everything that goes into the game. They are not going to show any signs that they are wavering on their choice of design. They're going to want people to get used to and enjoy this costume, not give them a chance to say, "Oh thank God I don't have to use this costume."

I'll bet my left testicle that there aren't any alternate costumes.

Although I understand your line of thought on this matter...be prepared to lose that testicle. :woot:

Sony may have the final word but Beenox will be pushing for things creatively...they've already spoken of having additonal playable characters. Beenox is known for alternate costumes and you can guarantee there will be some in this game.

I expect that testicle in my mailbox come July.

They'll most likely announce the additional costumes prior to the release of the game so you may have a left nut in your mailbox in say, late April :yay:

also i think the best web swinging was in WoS

(and no WoS is not my all time fav Spidey game)

Either way, I want that testicle soon! I will hang it over the fireplace as a test-ament (:rimshot:) to Spiderman6592's failure.

I like how you can control the camera during the web swing in WoS. It didn't 'reset' like it did in SM3.

I just hope the beginning tutorial for this game is the final battle between Lizard on the bridge.

And with that said, hopefully they have some other skins you can use besides the main one. I'm sure Beenox will have plenty of cool costumes and I'll be sure to use some of those. :cwink:
I'm hoping for that as well

There won't be any other costumes guys. This is the movie game. The movie has one costume, why would they ever publicize anything but that costume?
It has the mask he wore before making full costume?

Why not? Just because it's a movie game doesn't mean anything. X-Men Origins Wolverine had 3 comic inspired costumes you could unlock and that was a movie game.
Was it in development before the movie being announced?
I hope we can unlock SD & EoT costumes for the new game, even if it isn't built by the same team
it did not rely on web strike THAT much -.-
I saw myself using it a lot, but I try depending on it less. I see what you're pointing at

Nothing beat SM2 yet in that department

I just hope the beginning tutorial for this game is the final battle between Lizard on the bridge.
One more game to start with a boss fight? Aside from Ultimate Spider-Man how many games (in general) start with a boss fight?

They have?

there has yet to be a game that captures the 'essense' of superman.

spider-man - SM2
batman - AA/AC

superman - ?

when I play a superman game I should be able to go anywhere with no restrictions whatsoever. when I am at street level I should be able to spin through the ground to subway level, if I fly in a direction no build should be able to stop me. I should be able to topple buildings.

how do you reign in a character that can do all that? IF you start to destroy public property then the military/superheroes come in and shut you down. you also lose credibility with the citizens of metropolis.

the reverse of this is you play as a bad guy and get to destroy the city as a mission objective.

there needs to be a PROPER superman game.

^Uh,I thought we were talking about Spidey...

I'm kidding :D

Seriously,a few days ago I was thinking about the fact that, for the first time since SM2,we are going to play exclusively one version of Spidey, the classic, red and blue Spider-man,and personally I'm very happy for this.(USM:Spidey+Venom;SM3 and WoS:red and black suit;SD:4 Spideys;EoT:2 Spideys)
This HAS to be another good sign.

Universally hated and faulty as it is, SM3 (Treyarch) captured the essence of Spidey much better than SM2 or most Spidey games for the most part, SM2 did it best in free roam mostly

That would be extremely cool, but I doubt that will happen

Yeah, unfortunately it's unlikely. However, from a design perspective, it would definitely be a great way to kick off your game. Kind of throw players into the action right from the start. Allow them to relive the final scene they just got done seeing in theaters!

Also, the tutorial could be extremely intuitive. A boss fight against Lizard would definitely cause Spidey to use all of his powers. Thus, it would be a seamless tutorial. I hate how mundane tutorials are in video games. They hold the players hand too much and sometimes makes you feel insulted as a gamer. :oldrazz:

They could then transition away from the movie scene and got right into the new story they, Beenox, plans to tell. I know I speak for everyone when I say, I can't wait for the new footage!

I really want to know how the combat and web-slinging play. I don't know about you guys, but I would love to be able to reenact some of the web-swinging seen in the last trilogy. Especially when Spidey goes down to street level and swings in between the semi-truck.

You could have Spidey use his agility to swing and spin through the various obstacles found in the city! Seriously, this wait is killing me.

Whoa! We still have like 8 months to go...easy there, breathe...it's gonna be OK.

I was thinking about something like that. It would be great. Kinda like the Venom vs. Pete football field fight from the USM game.

Man I loved the USM game. It's still my favorite Spidey game of all time. I really wish I had an HD version to play on my PS3, since I don't use my PS2 anymore and my PS3 isn't backward compatible.

But anyway, that would be a great way to start the game. And considering we probably won't fight the Lizard at any other time in the game, I'd say that would be the perfect time to have that one fight with him (assuming we won't fight him again at some point.)

No thanks. Superman bores me.
