Honestly, as long as the swinging and stuff is fun and the environment is as open and detailed as I hope it is, it's completely worth the purchase for me. Everything else is just a bonus.

Fair enough. I need more than just that for the game to be considered a great Spidey game, but those things are quite important nonetheless.

I would love for this game to have Arkham City level of detail.

My only doubt about the game so far is about how lively NYC will be. The streets look sort of bare right now, hopefully that'll be fixed by June.

Yeah i want this game to be chock full of pedestrians. Like on the level of Prototype where the streets were just littered with people.

There's plenty of speculation about the TASM game, such as "I hope this game rocks!" or "I really want this game to be great!"

Is there anyone that is expecting this game to be awesome? What have you seen thus far to make you believe this?
My main concerns right now are the robots and how the camera will be (enjoyable or not so)
Almost everything else looks promising
I don't own a console, so I won't be playing it... :(
Another PC gamer?

You can watch people on YT playing it:awesome:
That will suck, part of free roam games charm is there from the extra activities, these need to be played
A silly beat 'em up on the other hand with nothing to do more than beating people, that can be ok

Wonder how will people react if you'll be able to kick and throw cars

Not sure how anybody could be worried about the robots. We've seen more than enough recently that hasn't featured robots.

And on the camera... ehh, not sure why you wouldn't like it. It's right up close to the action. :D Reminds me of the camera perspective in Arkham Asylum/City.

Still, I hate being forced to fight robots

And as for the camera, will it be as such? Or will it display different views every few swinging frames and such

From what we've seen and heard, I'm going to say it'll be over the shoulder/closer to him for pretty much everything except combat... like it was in the Arkham games.

Gonna be a little 'meh' during swinging if it's over the shoulder then

Im hoping the new camera will really help show the height spidey swings at....maybe give us a little vertigo.

lol. I have a sneaking suspision that by climbing oscorp tower, not only will my fear of heights kick in, but also the air might feel a little thin once spidey reaches the top...

We still haven't seen a final build of the game and I'm pretty sure that adding more peds and cars is one of the last things they'll do. I don't think any game has really captured the actual feel of NYC. It's a difficult thing to do and honestly it would probably take the efforts of a separate engine running just the environment. There's just so much going on in NYC.

No one is forcing you to fight robots. You can stop playing the game when it gets to that point. :oldrazz:

Like Troy said, the camera will be over-the-shoulder during swinging and will shift to a view similiar to AC when in combat situations. It does look like you can freely control the camera during swinging and free roaming much like in WoS.

Not really. It looks amazing.

Hell yeah it does.

Several of the reviews of the demo footage released prior to and during GDC indicated that there was a dizzying effect when swinging and leaping off of buildings. And if I remember correctly, there were comments made that anyone with 'air sickness' may be challenged.

Air sickness huh? *sigh*...I guess I better find some vomit bags.....Small price to pay though in the grand scheme of things.

I have a fear of heights but I didn't mind the free-falling missions in Edge of time. dont see how this will be any different.

That is so badass!
I hope this game supports 3D. That'll make it even crazier!

The free falling in EoT failed to capture an feeling of vertigo, imo. Most of those sequences, if I remember correctly, were encased in a shell. Part of the effect of vertigo is being able to see the environment around you because it gives you a reference point to how fast you are moving and gives you a sense of danger. EoT failed to deliver this notion.

really? it worked for me

Not TASM game related, but it is game related and it is TASM related.
