me personally i can be extremely excited and not be let down at all.

in terms of this game, i hae a feeling it will be the greatest super hero game ever.

BEENOX GETS SPIDEY. Just cause the past 2 games weren't as great as everyone wanted them to be doesn't mean Beenox doesn't understand Spidey.

judging by the fan service in those 2 games, and how hard they are working on this one, they understand Spidey better than any developer in the past. maybe even more than Neversoft.

And seeing as how they kept stressing the fact that are looking to the Spidey games fans love the most, as an inspiration/template to make this game and make it BETTER. I'm pretty sure this will be the best Spidey game ever.

and IDGAF what anyone else says or thinks, judging by just what we know up to this point, all the knowledge we have concerning this game already shows that it is more than likely better than SM2 the movie and SM1 for playstation 1.

now that all will prob change once we finally get our own personal hand son the game, but as it stands, I have no doubt that this game will be truly Amazing. that it'lls be more than just "the Akrahm game for Spider-Man"

I really hope we can go on his computer. :D

2 things that would be cool: faux websites and stuff u could check out on his computer and stuff that he has saved on there.

or if this was a way to REALLY connect to the internet through the computer in the game. that's be extremely neat

Here's the thing...Beenox is still pretty much a mediocre developer at this point. I mean, what have they actually put out there that says, "We're awesome!" I can't think of anything.

But here's what Beenox did right and is doing right. IMO, the open world Spidey games were reaching a lull point; they're creativity was dwindling (trivia time: did you know there are only 7 words in the English language that begin with Dw-...can you name them?) and that type of Spidey game was turning into the same ol' same ol'. WoS was the last one and although the web swinging was terrific, the rest of game was blah...boring, and uninspired. I'm not sure if it was solely Beenox' idea to make a linear Spidey game again but it was a very important decision. By changing up the format and going back to a linear styled game, this gave Beenox the chance to 'reinvent the wheel.' They were able to create something totally fresh and new and get people thinking differently about a Spider-man game again. Ok, yes, SD was probably at best a good game and it suffers from mediocrity a times and yes, EoT was basically crap according to most people (I am one of the few who thought EoT was better than SD...please don't hurt me). The key thing about those games is what Beenox was able to learn. They started small. Both SD and EoT served as experiments, if you will, on how to make a great Spider-man game. The experience that they earned while making those games provided them will valuable info. Beenox was able to figure out what worked and what didn't, how to make improvements i.e. the camera worked better in EoT, the animations for Spidey were improved, etc. They also learned more about Spider-man as a character and how to truly bring him to life on the video game screen.

TASM will most certainly benefit from the experience of making those games. With a keen eye, you can see how Beenox has used elements of both of those games in this one and not only used those things but improved them. They've also spent time researching past Spidey games and probably the greatest thing they could have done was research the top game out there. Yes, I'm referring to Arkham. Why not? It makes perfect sense. Try to emulate the best guy out there, learn why it's the best, and then take those ideas and even try to improve on what they've accomplished. In most of these preview articles that we read, it's funny how Arkham gets mentioned almost as much as the actual game TASM does.

Beenox is on the right track. Whether or not they actually succeed in making a truly great Spidey game remains to be seen. But based on everything presented to us so far, there's no reason to not be excited. Look at what we know...free roam, new gameplay mechanics, freeflow combat that is more grounded and realistic, stealth, indoor missions, side quests, a highly detailed Spider-man with probably the best looking model we've had, great detail in the environment, etc. I don't know about everyone else, but my inner spider is tingling.

A mildly shorter version

I'm not thinking how good it will be, don't try to
I don't think we need to feel pessimistic about this one. I did it for EoT, for example, because there were reasons for that, like the game being set entirely in a building, small development time, no promising previews...

However, there's only reasons to remain optimistic about TASM. Besides it being set in a open world and having a much bigger development time then its predecessor, it's getting a lot of good previews and praise from those who were able to see it.

The vibe so far is really positive. They had a weak start, but they're getting there.

I'm not that extreme, still conservative about it, though most things are very encouraging
Web of Shadows is the only Spidey game I looked forward to play after the PS1 games (those were well worth it), and I hated that game, still do:
  • No variety
  • Terrible story disrespecting the title character, and a few others so badly
  • Half-assed charged jump, goes only two floor up, and one should expect more with how he flies leaving the web
  • Some of the boss fights are half-assed
  • Worst final boss fight
True that some (maybe 3) of these will be fixed, still don't want to be disappointed

Nothing against that, I liked it cause some stuff reminds me of some games I love, not really a memorable game though

It's a reason for me to be conserved, I don't seem to agree much when it comes to comic book superhero games with the rest

The vibe so far is really positive. They had a weak start, but they're getting there.
At least it's worth being interested

These previews sound freaking fantastic!

Tons of villain names appeared on the debug menu, sweet. And an ally? Prowler? Black Cat? I'd like to see Prowler in a game, he could be a villain/boss at first like in the comics, but become an ally to Spidey like he does.

I hope it's Prowler. We had enough of Black Cat.
But...if they can make her character as fun as in SM2, then I wouldn't mind.

Puma could be an ally, he's more of an ally than he's an enemy

Also, the combat in this game looks and sounds amazing. Freeflow + webs = astonishing.

I'm with you and I'd rather have Prowler or at least someone new over yet another version of Black Cat...but she was very fun in SM2.

Puma could be an ally, he's more of an ally than he's an enemy

I'd love to see Puma and maybe he could be both...a villain at first but then becomes an ally. (And what's up with editing my long post :csad: I like my version better :word:)

Ditto.

I just hope the second movie tries it's best to not destroy the events of the game. I'd love for each game to have its place in the movie trilogy.

I wonder if theyre working on another independent title as we speak.

There will probably be another Spidey game for 2013, 2014 will most likely be The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I like this idea, like the thought of going online and maybe seeing the tweets everybody posting about him???

I'm very excited to see how the other civilians of New York responds or react to Spidey realistically. I wonder will there be quipping? LOL jk :woot:
Excited for this game, do anybody know when we will finally see a demo or some actual gameplay of this game? I"m also very aware that most of the trailers footage are actual gameplay.

uhm, how about all the fan service within Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time?

black cat has only been in 3 games where u actually interact with her (not counting FoF) Spider-Man from 2000 SM2 from 2004, WoS from 2008, and EoT from last year.

if any characters are getting re-used more than needed to it's rhino and symbiotic characters like venom.
