Oh come on you just said move on! What the heck does that last part have to do with anything?

I found it funny that it was OK for that other guy to bring it up again, only because he agreed with him, but then he's all furious when I reply back. It just showed his predetermined mindset. He could have just ignored it as well then.

What does your post have to do with anything then, may I ask you?

I wasn't trying to be harsh or anything like that when I at first, in a friendly manner, said that I think she looks ridiculous in this game. But then they either misunderstood or wanted to misunderstand my points and claimed that my opinions were childish. But my complaints about her looks weren't any different than how some people dislike Spider-Man's new suit, or how people disliked Venom's looks in SM3 etc. It was just a dislike on the design itself. I said that I prefered her look in EoT even (though I still said that the design in WoS is much better but that got ignored) because she at least looks somewhat like Black Cat there. At least her face does.

But you know, they can think I have childish points for all they want now, I just don't see how this could be considered childish. It's fine if one doesn't agree but it's really uncalled for to call people things like that based on such things.

And yeah GENERAL RAAM582, we really need something new soon! :P

Haha, no. I was clearly calling you immature for how you're acting. Not what your opinion of black cat is.

Fine, I don't blame you for that then, this conversation got blown out of proportion way too much anyway. But I felt you pointed at me being childish and simply ignored Anno's behavior.

*Waves hand* This isn't the conversation you want to be having. You'd much rather talk about Kaven the Hunter.

:jabba:jedi

Lol.

Okay, okay....EVERYONE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE BLACK CAT STUFF.

We all have different opinions and we all have other posters agreeing on either side.

Awesome.

Now move the **** on and I don't want to see anyone replying to this and furthering this stupid ass argument.

Enough.

She'll probably be in the new trailer, and this discussion will start again.

An update from Hero HQ's facebook page: "We have a new trailer coming soon but can not release the date for it just yet."

Tease!

It'll probably be a Black Cat trailer, huh? With all this new stuff regarding BC, although...I hope it's of a new villain.

It'll be a Web Rush trailer, mainly. I'm sure it'll have Black Cat in it, though.

Can they for once stop teasing us and just do it already, ugh i'm ready for them to do it already and for heavens sake please stop teasing me

So, next month?
I'm joking. But seriously, I'm starving for new info. Been replaying the Rhino/Iguana trailers nonstop for about 3 weeks now

The next trailer was said to be focused on showing us the Web Rush. Although I wouldn't mind seeing some BC in the next trailer I'd rather them spend more time showing the rush mechanics and gameplay. What'd be cool is if they show each of the different uses for the web rush in a lightly edited fashion...everything from, the slow motion vs the quick dash methods, web rush during stealth, combat, web rush retreat, and just some free roam chaining one rush to the next.

Haha! Yeah, I'm ready to see some new stuff as well. Dee said last week they were working hard to bring us something this week but that doesn't mean it will happen. Hopefully we'll get it on Thursday, if not, it should be here by next week.

So I've been playing some Edge of Time. I'm kind of worried. Watching the ASM trailers and then playing EOT, I can't help but notice they are rehashing a few animations. Now I'm not saying its a deal breaker I'm just worried is all. Mainly because, as a few have already pointed out, there is a lack of a speed boost button.

Edge of Time's web swinging is so slow and not very thrilling. I'm hoping to God that this isn't how the web swinging in ASM will be. We haven't gotten any good representations of how the swinging will be. All we have been getting are the web rush web zips that shows Spidey moving quick.

As a few have said, the actual act of swinging looks relatively slow.

(I know the footage is slowed down by Beenox in some of the trailers. I'm referring to the leaked trailer back in the day. Not the Rhino trailer.)
I like though how Beenox seems to be putting a sense of weight to the character model. I think a Web Rush trailer is in dire need to put to rest any concerns.

I'm not worried. Of course Beenox will be carrying things over into TASM from not only EoT but also SD. The stealth combat is one example. This is obviously a mechanic seen in the Noir universe from SD. It will probably mimic some of the animations and honestly I don't think they can avoid that, but I would almost guarantee that improvements to the mechanics will be made.

Beenox has made it clear that they have scrapped the gameplay engine used in both SD and EoT and created a new engine. They worked on those games prior to this one and from an evolutionary standpoint it gave them the experience needed to understand what works for Spiderman and what doesn't. Beenox has redesigned the swinging for TASM and although we haven't gotten a good look at some unedited gameplay, the swinging mechanics seem to be more grounded towards realistic type physics. In this case, the use of a boost button would go against that type of mechanic. Spidey should gain momentum from the natural physics of a fall or possibly pushing off from an object. A mid-swing boost just doesn't make any sense.

And most of the action looks pretty slow, not just the web swinging and this is directly attributed to the fact that the trailers use a slower motion to create more tension. The stuff in the trailers is not full speed, well, most of it anyway.

Yeah, I knew they used a slow motion filter in the trailers. That's why I put that in parentheses. :D I'm not worried about the fact that they are recycling animations. I love the animations Beenox has done for Spidey in both SD and EOT.

I'm REALLY hoping they take an approach to the web swinging like how you described. I'm fine with not having a boost button. I just want to be able to accelerate my speed while web swinging. If that's naturally letting go of a webline, falling, and then using my momentum to swing at break neck speeds with the next web line...that would be bomb.

Me too actually. I have always thought the animations for Spidey and the attention to detail in the way he moves is something that Beenox nailed. Thus, I'm glad they will be carrying some of these things over from EoT/SD.

Yes, exactly. Gaining momentum should come from doing something that would cause you to boost naturally...just like you described, letting go of a webline, falling a bit more and then shooting out another webline. Also, I think we should be able to get momentum by mixing up the swinging with doing a web rush since those can be interrupted at any time to go back to a regular swing.

If Black Cat does show up in the trailer, it would be cool if she had some sort of web rush equivilent in her arsenal in order to give her that competitive edge against spidey. Imagine how fun that would be to see the two of them engaging in high speed parkour style pursuits and fight scenes across the entire city.

Yeah I see. Having someone grow a tail and skin to resemble the scorpion suit would probably be worse than rhino's transformation in this game.
LOL
Comparing the cartoon Scorpion to this game Rhino, I pointed at the difference, being in a costume =/= exterior change

In the 90's cartoon Scorpion was the result of a procedure to create someone similar but superior to spider-man. They use the dna of a scorpion, because it's a natural predator of the spider. His similarity to spider-man always made him interesting to me. Both guys in suits with arachnid dna. One has mechanical webshooters the other a mechanical tail. Both have enhanced strength/speed/agility etc.
You know what I don't get about Scorpion in that cartoon? How inconsistent he is
1. I want revenge on Spider-Man
2. Further mutation, goes berserk, wants cure and vengeance, gets caught
3. He's human and smaller all of a sudden compared to the giant Scorpion man he became the further he mutated, instead of giving good resolution to his story, his return is unexplained
4. Wants to be cured
5. F*** being cured, again not explained, with all the babble in that show you'd expect further explaining of Scorpion

You really want to bring in inconsistency when it had A LOT of that during the entire run of the series? Lol.

LOL. Fair point

If another villains should show up, I think Dr. Jonas Harrow would fit
If Smythe isn't the mastermind, Harrow would be near perfect
