Iron Man 3 AMC, Regal Entertainment theaters, and Cinemark Theaters will not be showing IM3

It could still make big money just not initially though

that would not be good in crowded summer movie season...The Great Gatsby on the 10th and Star Trek Into Darkness on the 15th...It would have a week at best to make up for not being in the 3 main theaters.

yes it will make its money...but not like it would if it was in the big chains

Yea if they don't work this out, Iron Man 3 box office sales will take a major hit. Like someone else said this summer (well May in particular) is extremely crowded with movies. We have this, Gatsby (though I am not interested in seeing it) Star Trek, Fast 6, Hangover Part 3 all within weeks of each other.

I hope the theaters stand their ground and don't give into to Disney, like how DirecTV gave into Viacom.

I get your point but I don't want that to happen! All the movie theaters near me are either Cinemark, Regal, or AMC so I would not be able to see the movie if this happened.....

Hope they get this worked out and soon, I was planning on seeing this opening nice at AMC, where I see all the movies I attend.

Disney needs to stop this....they don't have too many other big productions that could recover this...their other summer movies are Lone Ranger and Pixar's Planes.....I was telling a friend if I was the other studios i would start thinking May 3rd is open.....maybe slide Hangover 3 in there and pull a Ted.

I thought it was the Monster's prequel this summer?

I can't read it, but good. That means my theater is good. I just hope there isn't a ticket price hike.

I'd like to see who won in the agreement

Don't get too happy...if Disney won we could be seeing a ticket hike

Now I just need Cinemark or Regal to end their disputes since the AMC deal doesn't help for my location. Regal is the closest one for where I am and the nearest Cinemark is located across town and not as nice.

From the writer of that Wall Street Journal article:
@benfritz: Regal is in talks with Disney and could reach a deal to start selling "Iron Man 3" tickets today also, a source confirms

God I hope that's true. This is really starting to scare me with the premiere date being so close.

EDIT: Just saw that Disney and AMC reached an agreement. That solves my problem!

These theater chains stand to lose tens of millions of dollars.

Disney has deeper pockets and can take the hit.

The theaters will fold.

I see a deal was reached.

Thank goodness. That could've ruined countless box office debates in the future. :)
