American Idol Season 9 Official Thread.

Just a week away from the start of the season with the audition episodes. Since there really isn't much to talk about at this point, "old topic" but how do you feel about Ellen replacing Paula, what are you looking forward to the most this season ect?

This is the first year I am not watching this. I could care less about where this show is going. Nothing can replace drunk/high/pilled Paula Abdul. I didn't much like last season and stopped halfway through so Fox, you have lost me.

Been an avid watcher from the beginning, but for some reason this season I'm completely uninterested. :/

This show needs to go. It was a cultural phenomenon, but it should have been left in the last decade.

but im pretty excited for this season, theres always someone i like in every season... although my fav always doesnt win

Ellen isn't even in the music industry...... so her opinions will just be opinions and not critique because she doesn't know skwat

But theres three other critics so one comedian judge wont degrade the panel that much

This must be a very unpopular season of American Idol, doesn't look like anyone has been keeping up with it.

This season is appalling dreadful. Like, I almost don't believe it.

they cut more people i liked than they kept i think

I don't even know if their is anyone worth liking. They're all SO BAD. Such a piss poor mediocre group of people. And then the judges sit there and act surprised that they suck.

The best of this season are comparable to the worst of seasons past.

they should've let Shelby, Angela and Tori in there.

I felt like that the women were stronger this year overall (though there are a few really good guys.

Really? That first girl who performed yesterday was a joke, and Simon said she was the best vocalist this season.

i got home while janell was performing. i like her somewhat, but that song was out of her level

I hate most of the contestants this season. Except maybe 1 or 2.

The only ones I am rooting for are Andrew Garcia, Crystal Bowersox, and Siobhan Magnus

I'm really surprised by how bad almost everyone did the last two nights. I don't know if it was nerves or what, but just about everyone in the Top 24 had better auditions and a few had really good runs during Hollywood week. I had thought this crop was better than the last three seasons, but after seeing last night, I don't know.

As for Ellen, I think she has been just okay so far. Not great, but not as bad as I feared.

Some terrible contestants this season. Geez. I don't think there's anyone I care enough about to see them win. I also feel like the judges are just struggling to think of things to say about this season's contestants.

They were mediocre singers? (And non-white!)

I hope Siobhan Magnus wins. There aren't a lot of big voices this season like Adam Lambert/Kelly Clarkson etc. Andrew Garcia is the only male I can see winning. Crystal Bowersox is Ok but they keep inflating her ego. What is the blonde girls name that sang Coldplay?
