There are places where alcohol wasn't allowed long-term. They're in the middle east and they suck.
Nothing to do with alchohol.

How do you know?Nothing to do with alchohol.
Police often respond to reports of drunk and disorderly, not baked and disorderly conduct" - Representative Barney Frank (D-MA)It's been my experience that people who are against the legalization of pot are people who haven't tried it and/or believe that all laws are made with sound reason and should be followed. My dad, for instance, is a great example of this. He used to be a heavy drinker and huge smoker, but he never once tried pot. He doesn't smoke or drink now, but he's violently against pot. His reason? "It's illegal for a reason."
There's really no valid reason not to legalize it. I've been high off my ass, but it never came close to obscuring my frame of mind like alcohol has.
Oh I completely agree Bamfer.
My parents are very traditional. My father is a heavy drinker. Even though I'm 27, he'd probably whoop my *** if he ever thought I'd smoked pot.
Yet I can hear him throwing his guts up after a night out on the drink.
Pot's never made me feel wretched. Alchohol has.

How do you know?
and what business is it of yours if I drink or smoke weed in my own house?
This guy is great. Very sound argument.
Not really."Just as"? Smoking and drinking are far more harmful and addictive than marijuana. And smoking pot doesn't ruin people's lives, people ruin people's lives.![]()
Not really.
Yeah, that's a bit abusive. And that's the decision you made. The pot didn't tell you to smoke that much. Maybe it did. But if that's the case, I'm guessing you were doing more than just Miss Jane.![]()
They're all bad anyway.Yeah, really.
Also that's why I said WITH not FROM TAKING."Just as"? Smoking and drinking are far more harmful and addictive than marijuana. And smoking pot doesn't ruin people's lives, people ruin people's lives.![]()
Weed doesn't make you prone to psychosis. Smoking it heavily for a number of years might make you prone to severe paranoia and schizophrenia.
But actual psychosis? Where did you hear that rubbish?
That's what I've done/plan to do.Legal or not, it's still poison. It compromises your higher brain functioning, makes you prone to psychosis, and therefore makes you dangerous to yourself and others. The fact that alcohol does the same thing doesn't negate this fact.
We have enough alcohol related problems without compounding them with potheads running the street. The law really does very little to punish/correct people for making others suffer for their addictions. Until that happens, I hope no other drugs become legal for recreational use.
But forget about what the government says. Forget about what your slacker buddies say. The intelligent, healthy thing to do is abstain from altering your cognitive function with a toxin.
Get a life. Stay clean.
How's that for a rant?![]()
