An Odyssey Remake

I was reading the Frank Miller prepping 300 sequel, and it said Frank Miller is going to use another mythic tale, I really, really think we need an odyssesy remake; it would be so freakin awesome especially if done by Frank Miller and associates, Troy got a remake, 300 is actually a remake, why not make an uber-awesome Odyssey movie

p.s. if you don't know the story of the odyssey, its the following tale after the trojan war odysseus and whats left of the greek army goes (or at least tries) to their homeland

I think what makes so great , 300 it's the fact that is a story bout people defending their homeland , and if u look at Odyssey , it's About Ulisses and the hell of a trip he had to return , but of course he is a big character and all with his great mind , but think about it , He used his mind to destroy a fantastic city and all .....

Not interested in an Odyssey remake. Been done a zillion times, thats why something like 300 was interesting, it wasn't a hight profile greek legend, and it wasn't something done on film.

Miller should make a sequel about the Sea Battle that took place around the same time if he wants to do a sequel.

The Odyssey is far too epic to be able to do it justice in a movie... not with regards to the scale of it, but just because of the length of the story. Cutting it down to screenplay length would just be a disservice.

Yeah I agree, but I was thinking that they could do a "Lord Of The Rings" and have a trilogy all shot at the same time. Put out 3 movies because it's a helluva long story.

The only thing is at least the Illiad and the Odyssey is just myth and not history, as far as we know currently. I would like to see the Illiad done in all its mythological glory unlike Troy which took that all out. Miller could bring the fantasy element into play even if he does butcher quite a bit of the story.

Guys and Miller fanboys PLEASE understand that Miller isn't the best fit to write the script for either of Homer's epics! If anything I feel Peter Jackson would be a better fit to write and direct the adaptations of them!

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I studied it in school. There is some much stuff in there that would look good on screen. A lot of it is the basis for Star Trek.
