I don't know, I stopped listening to him by then, I found someone better on the same time slot.

He's too abrassive, I support his Freedom of Expression, but that doesn't mean I have to support his show. The one thing I did like from his show was when he would talk about when he was growing up, his stories of being a son of an Immigrant were always nice, but when he gets loud, it kills it for me. I started listening to Mark Levin, that's a much better show in my opinion.

Are you sure he wasn't talking about something else? I've heard him say that the group of homosexuals actively working to change this culture "The Pink Mafia", but I've never heard him say anything like what you said he did.

Again, that's another reason I stopped listening to him, He's not a libertarian, he should use his radio voice to spread words of Liberty, not Condemnation. But, again, he has a right to say it. I have a right not to listen to it.

I'm not saying their parenting skills would magically disapear. I'm just saying that I personally find it a little un-nerving that just two random homosexual people can just go and adopt a child.

People CAN'T just 'go and adopt' a child. No matter what sexuality they are, they have to go through an intense screening process to determine whether or not they are fit for parenting. That goes for gay, straight and single people trying to adopt children. And if two men wanted to love a child unconditionally together, isn't that better than that child being left to years in children's homes and temporary foster parents? Being left in children's homes is much more detrimental to a childs self-esteem than any sort of ridicule they may recieve at school. And kids are cruel. Nearly every teen/child will get ridiculed for something at some point in their lives. Whether its braces, family's wealth, glasses, weight, height, intelligence or lack thereof, ineptitude at sports, personal hobbies... Just because your parents are straight doesn't preclude you from a life of torment. Just because your parents are gay doesn't damn you to a hell of ridicule.

Two "random" homosexual people cannot just go and adopt a child any more than two random heterosexual people can. There is intensive background checking and screening for ANYONE seeking to adopt, whatever their sexual orientation.

I remember when MSNBC had his show on Saturday afternoons....he was taking calls, something about the gay community, and it was getting heated and he asked the caller..."Sir, are you a sodomite?" Except Fred Phelps doesn't have any power in this country considering he angers every single group. Liberals don't like him because he thinks homosexuals are destined to burn in hell, going so far to say that Matthew Shepard deserved to die; conservatives don't like him because he says everyone in America (except for the Phelps brigade, of course) is going to hell because the government has granted rights and liberties to homosexuals. Oh, and he protests dead soldiers' funerals...

Michael Savage at least has a large, attentive nationwide audience, and that alone gives him more power because he can actually convince people to agree with his ideas. Fred Phelps hates everybody, so that doesn't give him any leverage really.

I just recently moved to the south this past year, specifically Tennesee. On my drive home from work, I normally listen to my mp3 player, but sometimes I don't really want to listen to music, and I turn on talk radio.

Well out here, we're stuck with Michael Savage.

Not only have I heard him make ridiculous, offensive, insulting accusations towards us Liberals, misinforming his ignorant masses to a dangerous level with sensationalism and right wing propaganda, but I've heard him make way too many bigoted remarks towards those who feel different than him, most notably as of late (with California's unfortunate passing of Prop 8) the homosexual community, making baseless accusations that homosexuals are out to destroy America and the American family value system by wanting to marry and adopt.

I'm ashamed that he hails from my home state of California, from my home region of the San Francisco Bay Area.

But more than that, while I am all for freedom of expression and would never support censorship of any kind, I worry for the people that he brainwashes with his propaganda. Unlike shock entertainment like Howard Stern, South Park, Grand Theft Auto, rap music, or what have you, Savage's expression of political beliefs can cause ACTUAL harm when people actually buy into and believe his non sense, hatred, and bigotry.

And that's my rant for the evening.

This is true. Although a think "hate-monger" is a little much. I listen to Savage occasionally, and he has the right idea about a lot of stuff, but I have to disagree with him when it comes to whole gay thing. It just isn't logical that gays should be denied the right to marry. I'm a conservative but I just never understood this arguement.
