Anderson, Hoffman Reteaming on Master

Just gotta be different.

I think they may be trying to put Hoffman in as supporting, even if his character is the one at the forefront of the whole thing. It seems like it's more Phoenix's story.

This is correct. Hoffman gets a very meaty role, but this is Phoenix's film no doubt.

Damn. If Lewis' Lincoln will be as great as we hope, I still hope Phoenix is good competition for him. Because he is very deserving of it.

Politics may also play a role.
Hoffman has already won the best actor oscar but Phoenix hasn't ( was he nominated for Walk the Line ..can't remember).

Finally opens in Chicago this week, been waiting with bated breath to check this out.

PTA is definately living up to his reputation as the next " Kubrick".
The anticipation of his movies continue to grow more and more

A.O. Scott from the New York times has a very positive but overall very well written review. Its a good read.

Movie was great in my opinion, although it tends to drag in the 2nd Act. Review's in the signature if you're interested.

Phoenix-Best Actor Nominee

I'm gonna ****ing lose it if this movie doesn't come anywhere near me. I know it's not gonna come to my town's piece of crap/we love Adam Sandler theater, but if the 20-plex in Augusta with IMAX screens doesn't have it...:cmad::cmad::cmad:

The trailers certainly have me intrigued. I gotta give them props for not going the traditional route with them.

Again be prepared for PTAness cranked up to ten. Take the last 15 minutes of There Will Be Blood and apply it to pretty much this whole movie.

There's one scene in the film between Phoenix and Hoffman where Hoffman gives Phoenix a little therapy.

One of the best scenes I've seen all year! So many emotions bursting out.

This one still doesn't have a Swedish release date, **** that!

Saw it last night after work. Give them an Oscar. Give them three Oscars actually. This thing was just....you start to feel it in the pit of your stomach when Phoenix and Hoffman are at it in their scenes. Phoenix's character just has this uncomfortable nature about him.....you know how he pulled off that whole Andy Kaufman-like thing that one year.

Phoenix wins Best Actor hands down and PT takes Director. Best Picture is a lock.

I saw it a second time last night. It's definitely better the second time. Plus it helped I was prepared for what I already saw.

The film has an obvious yet hidden message. I picked up on it halfway thru. After a second viewing its just completely obvious and even more brilliant.

I want to see this so bad, but it isn't showing here, in this small town. Gonna have to wait for the DVD.
