Knock it off already, Antariksh.
Please.
Isildur admitted his trolliness right up front, and his relatively weightless statements & questions can be addressed (or not) without resorting to thinly-veiled vulgarity. It just makes
you look bad. (And that's putting it kindly.)
I'm sick of having to read these boards
only when my young daughter is out of the room. And it's mainly because of
your vulgar nonsense.
And no, it's
not sufficient to replace one or two letters in a vulgarity with dingbat characters. Any semi-literate 7-year old can read your profanity just fine.
So can you
please control yourself so a mod doesn't have to step in?
How about it?
That being said...
Too
serious?
Are
you serious?
NONE of this stuff is serious!!!
Not the FF, not Batman, Superman, Spider-man...It's all just fluff fantasy, with touches of melodrama.
Just like Tolkien's literary lightweight
Ring books. Fun? Sure.
But serious?
Guess it just depends on what one is serious about.
But Happy trolling trails to you.
For those who weren't around these boards last year for the troll-infested lead-up to the first movie:
It's gonna get a lot worse.
And it won't matter
how good the production stills look,
how great the set reports are,
how positive the leaked script reviews are...It won't matter if James Cameron and Steven Spielberg pitch in to direct this one and George Lucas offers the complete resources of ILM at no charge.
It won't matter.
These boards are already crawling with immature, insecure and jealous uberfans of everything from
Batman to the
Ring movies; all manner of unhappy miscreants who (God only knows why) can't stand the thought of any fantasy properyy other than their favorite getting the limelight.
And they're gonna come in here and try to rile the FF fans.
A lot.
When these sad individuals come in here with nothing intelligent to contribute, with the single intention of getting as many goats as possible...
just ignore them. Let the mods handle it.
And
please, please do
NOT go to
their respective forums and "fire back."
We had enough of that last year. It just makes things worse.
At the same time, remember that not everybody who has a negative thing to say about the first movie is a troll. They're entitled to their opinion.
In
my opinion, a significant degree of skepticism about
FF2 is only sensible, but more importantly, it can be
constructive. Just last week we saw many of the complaints about
FF1 and suggestions for
FF2 posted right here on the Hype boards
publicly acknowledged by the film's director.
There's
no question in my mind that many of the improvements they're attempting in
FF2 would not be happening if the fans here and elsewhere had not spoken up about their disatisfaction with the first film.
I promise you, there's
no bigger fan of the Fantastic Four walking this planet than yours truly.
And
I thought
FF1 was a pretty big stinker.
Those of you jumping up and down and wailing (and cursing) at every negative remark made about this franchise need to grow up fast or take it elsewhere.
Just my opinion. Semper Four.
