Angel

I don't know why the ratings fell so short on Season 5 with Wolfram & Heart.
Ok, so it wasn't the classic Angel fighting crime on the streets that we were used to, but I think that it was by far the most interesting season.

F*** You to all of the people who let Angel get cancelled.
Angel was my favorite show on The WB, too.

The Story got stupid that's why it fell short on ratings. Its a pattern when there is a hit show they somehow I dont know lose the thing that it made it good or oversaturate or what ever you want to call it.

Angel was a until the end of season two. then it went downhill. season 3 and four had good point to it but it was'nt a hit like season 1.

I dont know why but it happens to many shows and even video games.
(Halo fans everywhere are saying Halo 1 was better than Halo 2)

I dont know what else to say but no one should be suprised this show got the boot

The only negetive thing out of this show was the whole SON storyline....

Buffy got stale after the event which blew up Sunnydale High, but kept going regardlesss...

yup

Anybody besides me find it funny that pretty much all the shows the WB had to replace Angel were cancelled?

Yeah, I can see the brotherly aspect there. But I don't think there was as much love as you say. Way I see it, Spike sees Angel as a heartless sociopath playing pretend that he's a hero, and Angel sees Spike as a selfish thug who brings way too much trouble along with him whereever he goes.

I think your definitly right about the way Spike/Angel's relationship was at first....but as the season went on, I think they bonded more, and they got a little more playful (sort of like Gob and Michael Bluth on arrested development but with more violence). Thats why I thought it was interesting, it evolved beyond animosity. It was still there, but there was also that mutual respect I think.

Also I agree that Spike probably was a better person than Angel in some respects....but he doesn't seem to have as much remorse for the bad deeds he did. He just sees it as 'oh well, it happened', whereas Angel seems to realise all the destruction he did, which in turn, made him a better person.

Fair point.

True. But, if Angel suddenly lost his soul, he'd go back to being a mass murdering sociopath. If Spike lost his, he'd probably stay relatively the same, since he didn't really change much after regaining his soul in the first place. He still remained an overly violent thug with anger issues. Because, really, it was never about the kill or the torture to him. What he really loved was the thrill of open combat. Torturing a group on children to death was Angelus' thing. Starting a barroom brawl, insighting a riot, and overall just making a mess of things and getting into fights was Spike's things. He still did very bad things, but he also did some good things. He's a very morally complex character.

^Classic. My favorite is Apocalypse Nowish. That rain of fire and fight with the Beast blew my mind.
