Hey players.

Recently got a DVR hooked up in my apartment from Time Warner. It is by far the coolest gadget I've ever owned. And that's not even the best part.

I'm currently getting tons of video on demand cable channels totally free. This includes Anime Network, Adult Swim, and G4 which I've been dying to see on demand for a long time.

Anime Network rocks. Let's you sample multiple episodes from a group of shows and it alternates every couple weeks from the looks of things. Been able to watch more Get Backers and Rahxephon which I was never able to see before. Buying anime volumes is a little pricey so this kind of helps. No cutting or editing, no commercials, well there are. There are commercials at before the start and after the end of the programs. Guess they got to get revenue some way. There's also a nice little promo feature where ADV previews there new releases and upcoming anime con appearances.

Adult Swim is great. They do have some anime shows on there. Currently the final episode of Big O and several episodes of Samurai Champloo which I didn't get to see yet. So that rocks. First season episodes of Ghost In The Shell as well.

In case anyone's wondering about what I'm paying for my DVR service. Time Warner gives me my first 2 months free, and all subsequent months it costs 8 dollars a month. So if you are in an area where you can get hooked up with this, it's totally worth it.

It's been around for a really long time. When it first came out, honestly, it was a lot better. I don't know if it's because I've started to collect so much more, and the inclusions of going to cons, but it's not as exciting...

It'd be great if we got the option for subbed or dubbed stuff.
and the fact that I've either seen, own it, or attemtped to watch it and didn't like it, is the only down side.

I miss the Jpop/rock music vids too.

Dude, I just got it, let me bask in it dammit!

I don't mind that all of it is in English since I usually just watch it in English anyway. Subbed/dubbed option would be nice, or if they offered a group of shows entirely subbed.

However, there might be legal issues with that and using the voices of the Japanese actors which fans won't take into account sometimes.

They now show episodes of Pop Japan TV. Really old episodes but at least you get your music video fix. :o

Thanks to TAN I was introduced to Azumanga Daioh :hyper:

It doesn't matter where anyone has heard about Azumanga Daioh... it's the greatest ****ing show ever, and everyone needs to see it!

so besides the installation for the dvr, 2 months free!?

Yeah first 2 months of the service is free, and every following month it's 8 dollars.

Many of the on demand channels are free. The movie ones and select others cost extra though like PPV.

Done really quickly too. I'm not a huge time warner fan, but they've totally delivered on my cable service so far.

thanks for this, i can finally make use of time warner instead of them bleeding me dry!:o

Mhm. I've had it for a few years now. I've recently gotten an HD box.. totally awesome.

One problem for me is that I have Adult swim, and AS on demand. I have G4 and G4 on demand. But, I have Anime Network on demand, yet no Anime Network. Why is this?

My guess is that Anime Network 24/7 which is just the regular anime network channel isn't provided by your service or isn't available in your territory as of now. I'd call your cable company to make sure.

When I used to live in Texas none of my satellite/cable providers could get me any anime network or anime network on demand.

Yeah.. There's a lot of channels not available here in NY.

But, I guess I shouldn't complain. On demand is still pretty sweet.

It's the same down here where I live. I remember when I requested for the full channel. They gave me some bull**** about how they needed more ppl in my area to request it. :whatever: That was about two years ago. And guess what ... nothing!! **** the ppl in my area !!! :cmad:

Also don't forget about CN on Demand. They have Naruto episodes on there. It's under the Kids On Demand channel. They used to have DBZ on there.

Haven't checked CN on demand in a while.

They did a whole revamp a few months ago. G4 and Anime are under Cutting Edge On Demand, I believe.

Yeah, they are in the cutting edge section on mine as well. Though there isn't a CN on demand channel. Only Adult Swim.

No, CN is under the Kids On Demand channel, channel 1024 down here. Like how G4 & AS is under the Cutting Edge channel, 1054.

I miss them being there own separate channels (but, you gotta make room I suppose). Not much of a difference now, just that when I go to cutting edge it is automatically on Comedy Central, and I hate that channel.

Oh I found them. Thanks for telling me where to look. More free anime like NARUTO!

Unfortunately, not nearly enough Foster's on Cartoon Network on demand.

Also Nickelodeon on Demand :) .

At one point they were playing Fosters in order from the beginning. They'd update with 3 episodes a week. Don't know if they still do that.

All they have is the CN invaded episode with Cheese right now. Isn't that Cheese in your av?

Is it wrong that I find Frankie kinda hot?

Yes, that's Cheese.

And Frankie is hot.

And whoa, you're right. All the Fosters episodes are gone.. they need to fix this now. :cmad:
