Premise:

The X-Men timeline was altered EVEN before the events of DOFP.
The X-Men timeline morphed MANY TIMES, not just one.
This theory explains all incongruences and errors, and also fixes them once and for all.
No Father/Son crap, no similar mutants crap, no ignoring timestamps.

NOW...... WHAT IF..... "Legion" is the true and pure "Original Timeline" where the classic X-Men trilogy never occurred and the X-Men never existed to begin with?

So:

1- LEGION Timeline - The TV series.

Then, David alters the past in some ways.

2- Timeline 2 - X-Men Origins + X1-X3 + Logan

Then, the mysterious mutant travels back in 1903.

3- Timeline 3 - First Class + Alternate Origins + Alternate X1-X3 + The Wolverine + DOFP 2023

4- Timeline 4 - First Class + DOFP 1973 + Apocalypse + Deadpool

Sounds interesting and fascinating. IMHO.

How would you explain xavier being his dad?

It's legit. Xavier (Patrick) birthed him in the original timeline. Nothing weird about it. It's just that in Timeline 1 Xavier did not create the X-Men and the original trilogy never happened.

It would depend on what happens in s2.
While they weaved between realities, time was never actually altered to that extent and most changed events were within memories and mental states.
