Another theater shooting! One dead, at least two injured

Wow...when are people going to stop posting these? We're going to have the same back and forth about gun control, some heated debate, some people getting hot under the collar and nothing is achieved.

When they don't happen anymore.

That will never happen. Cure the problem at the source, then they'll stop. Nobody is talking about that yet, and so we'll be having this back and forth ad nauseum.

It's a comic book forum, I don't see the point in dragging this place down with it too while every news station reports on it for the next week before it becomes wholly irrelevant.

At this rate there should be a "theater shooting" thread dedicated to posting about them.

And I'm only being half sarcastic with that given the number of times these have been happening lately.

By that logic 90% of the content in this section shouldn't be there.

should people start getting frisked/searched when entering the theater now?

Just ban backpacks, large handbags, and trench coats. Frisking and metal detectors are too much but make it hard to carry in huge weapons. I would also hire armed security guards to randomly patrol. That's minimal.

And hatchets.

In all seriousness, this is the dumbest shooter ever. Why the hell did he do it at a Mad Max screening in August? He obviously doesn't follow movies.

I am getting sick of these *******s violating the sanctity of my my film house.

Its getting old seeing stories like this. When is the government going to do something about this? How many times does this need to happen in order for change to take place? Gun laws need to be addressed and so does mental health. The world we live in is out of control.

Oh for ****s sake! This has got to stop! Or be fought! I'm sick of this. Theaters were always a place of fun when I was a kid, and now kids today have to worry about being murdered.

My local theater has two city cops that patrol the theater on weekend nights. They walk around outside and inside and watch for any suspicious people.

I agree about banning backpacks, purses, handbags, and large coats from theaters. If they refuse to leave them in the car then they are searched and patted down.

So the one death (so far) is the attacker? Not that it sways my opinion that we needed stricter gun control and more access to mental health services.

It pisses me off how when these things happen people cry and stuff and act like they care so much and say "we need change!" but then a week later everyone forgets about the shooting and moves on.

I say we ban humans from movie theatres, only way to be sure

People still care the subject just loses its freshness. There's also the factor of the solution which won't happen. Discussions flitter out as it becomes tedious when the answer is clear but nothing isn't implimented

Stranger too is that he did it in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday.
