I don’t think it has that much left in the domestic tank. It should chug past Solo in the next couple weeks tho.

Well China and Japan coming up are the last to drop, coming in the next 11 days. The first movie made $115M between the two. I think this will slightly improve upon that with a collective $125M between the two leaving on $10M left needed from the rest of the world to cross that $600M WW mark. I'm pegging the final total between $600-625M. Hell, all it needs right now is another $15M for this sub-franchise to collectively become yet another billion dollar member in the MCU as well.

Oh over $600m is on the cards? That sounds much better!

Excellent jump today for Ant Man. It can reach 40m yuan if it jumps close to 70% tomorrow which is possible. Looking more and more like an opening in the 60's million usd OW is the target

The fact that it came close to beating JL says as much about the quality of JL as it does this movie.

Not sure if a sequel is guaranteed though. Strong numbers but didn’t really set the world on fire. If Captain Marvel is a huge hit I can see them fast tracking a sequel for that before this one.

Thats 466.6 + 15 mil. + Japan + China.

Japan will do 7-14 mil. China will do 100-150 mil.

If I’m reading the numbers over at BOT right, AM&tW did around $1.48 million (US) in Thursday night previews in China. Homecoming did about $1 million on its way to a $23 million OD, so that preview number looks solid. No word on audience reaction yet.

Ghost Rider may get a show, but I don't see a movie anytime soon. Same for Moon Knight. His edge fits more the TV portion of the MCU. Blade could get a movie, but I don't see it as high priority as Ant-Man 3. Marvel's MO has been 2 sequels and 1 new IP a year. Ant-Man 3 will happen.

China Box Office: Ant-Man and the Wasp made ¥10.2M from midnights, 5th best ever for MCU titles behind Infinity War(¥59.5M), Age of Ultron(¥29.7M), Civil War(¥17.0M) & Iron Man 3(¥12.9M).

That’s about where I am on China and Japan, too. It could surprise in China but it doesn’t seem like multipliers there have been great lately.

Skimming the China board at BOT, the word is we’re now looking at $70 million+ OW with review scores better than Homecoming and The Meg (which went gangbusters there). Lookin’ good!

The Meg went banana in China because a famous Chinese actress from China is a co lead. Something MCU hasn’t exploited yet, to combine with its already popular brand there and watch the BO explode.

Really needs to move to 4 asap with all the sequels they’ll have on their plate, plus new films and then all the additional possibilities that this deal opens up.

Yeah, that makes sense. Keep the plans for the next couple of years in place but start moving things around beyond that to fit more in.
